In todays economy I don't think I would plan on being totally dependant on that type of business. I know of a child care center in Enid that has a whole room set aside for lessons like you are talking about but only the parents who are affluent can afford that on top of child care fees. In Norman I would only target Child Care Centers that cater to higher economic groups. I know that sounds bad but the truth is that child care is expensive and almost everyone employed can qualify for state assistance for child care.
Call every child care center listed in the yellow pages or go to okdhs.org and look up all the child care centers and give them a call. Ask/poll the directors what they think. If someone had called me at my center I would have truly told them that I felt NONE of my parents would have been able to afford that, and that if they did that they were going to a dance studio or gymnastics facility for the lessons.
Along with Soccer, Baseball, T-Ball, etc...many parents are limiting activities that they have to manage time to take kids to them too so you will find a few but will it be enough to support your lifestyle?
Keep researching this opportunity, if you are working a regular job you could add a few students at a center or two and work it into your schedule just to pick up a few dollars and then gradually build a clientel and eventually go part time then quit except for this work. Good luck, I think this is an awesome opportunity for kids in Norman!
