Kids Beds from Costco?

We need to get our 2.5 year old a twin bed in the next 2 months before the newest baby arrives. Ideally, we would like a sleigh style bed with trundle. Costco currently has one made by CafeKid, but it isn't a style I love and the price seems high. We are planning on this being her bed for many years.

Do you have any CafeKid furniture and if so, what do you think of the quality?

Does Costco just rotate their kids beds through the warehouse every so often? They have a ton more online, but they are cheaper in the store. Just wondering if they always carry kids beds and just change out which one?

I'm striking out on Craigslist and would love to hear your thoughts or suggestions!

What can I do next?

I don't know about Costco's distribution of beds or quality. If it were me I wouldn't buy the bed if I didn't like the style. I'd keep looking. If you need a bed before you find one you like I would just buy the mattress and put
It on the floor or use a Hollywood frame with a box spring. You could then use the mattress when you find the right bed frame.

If you see something you like but can't get it in time for the new baby, consider what we did. We did not actually use a bed for quite some time, just a twin size mattress on the floor. One really nice advantage of that was there was no need for railings. If our son rolled off the bed, he hardly noticed and just kept right on sleeping. No need to worry about his safety.

I knew exactly the type of bed I wanted, and I just kept looking on craigslist until I found it. I'm so glad I waited it out, because now he has exactly what I always wanted him to have. He doesn't even remember those months of sleeping on the floor, and my husband and I slept so much better knowing he was not going to hurt himself falling out of bed.

Don't buy something you don't care for if you plan to use it for years.

Wait and buy something of quality that will hold up over the years.

Our daughter was cradling out if the crib at 17 months so we had an extra queen mattress/ box spring we just out on the floor, the graduated to the frame. Later we bought a beautiful bed that she loves and is using in her condo.

Don't go cheap, delay the purchase until you find what you want.

A friend of mine bought her children's furniture from Costco (CafeKid) and she loves it. She's had some of it for years, and it has held up well.

I agree with the others though; don't buy it if you don't love the style, especially if you plan to use it for many years.

Have fun shopping!

You may not have this option, but we used our full size guest bed for my daughter. And we got a full size bed from Ikea for my son when he outgrew the crib. Just added a bed rail until they were old enough to not worry about falling out. It is MUCH nicer lying in bed to read with them than being squished together on a twin.

I bought my daughter's bedroom set from Costco and I love it. I think it is Cafe Kid but i'm not sure. For my second daughter I went and found a bunk bed with solid maple dresser for more money and the quality does not even compare to the Costco set. Costco typically has really good products and a great warranty program. They have always have kids furniture on line from what Ihave seen.

If you don't LOVE it? Don't buy it. It's not something you are going to use for a few months...you said you planned on keeping it for years...

We bought our bunk beds from Costco - going on 10 years now - I don't remember the brand - but I do know they are REAL wood and SOLID...the set has withstood 2 growing boys and their friends...

Find what you love and buy that...especially since you plan on keeping it for years...

I don't know about the bed itself, but we've been very happy with the twin-sized mattress we got our son from Costco.

I have seen couches, coffee tables, and dressers from Costco that were all great quality. I would imagine the beds are good too.

A bunch of my friends skipped the twin bed too. They went either full or queen. They thought about it and realized in 4 years, in your case 2 years, kiddo would be in school and wanting to do sleep overs so they figured they'd have to buy all new beds. They have never regretted buying bigger right from the start. Try to get her switched soon though. She's a bit old to still be in a baby bed or toddler bed so it might be really hard and take a lot of time.
