Juicer Recommendations

My husband and I want to buy the best juicer we can for $300 or less. Any recommendations? We're planning to juice twice a day with both fruits and vegetables. We would like something that extracts a lot of juice, has a quiet motor,is easy to clean and doesn't require a lot of food prep to get the fruits and veggies into the machine. Thanks for your suggestions!

Omega. I did a ton of research before I bought mine and feel it is best, especially for what you describe. I just put everything in as is. I do get quite a bit of juice and it is very easy to clean. I assume it's fairly quiet, but don't have anything to compare it to. Another reason I like it is because it is a 'masticating' machine. Meaning it chews up the fruits and veggies so they don't get heated in anyway therefore preserving the nutrients.

My husband just picked up a cheap Black and Decker and seems fine.

He hasn't used it too much. The first time he was so exicted and our four year old was watching him and wanted to help he FORGOT to peel the orange first. That poor man choked down that "concoction" with the peel. GROSS!

I love my Jack Lalane Juicer. It is quiet and does a great job. I've had it for years and just keeps right on juicing.

+1 on the Jack Lalane juicer. It does a great job, BUT the assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of the million parts is a huge pain the rear. For this reason, we hardly use ours. Thank goodness we got it a liquidation place for cheap.

I returned my Jack LaLane Juicer. I thought it was much to difficult to clean and I had to throw away tons of pulp. You also had to cut the stuff up. Things like bananas would gum it up.
I decided to get a Torpedo Multipurpose Appliance. It will pulverize anything, including seeds. You don't have cut anything up or throw any part of the fruit or vegetable away. Also easier to clean. It cost $199.

We ordered one on HSN and really like it.
I don't know that you'll be able to find a "quiet" juicer.
Grinding up things like carrots and apples is going to be a bit noisy.

Juicing is awesome and so good for you.
I have a friend whose health has improved so much since she began juicing every day. She was practically crippled by rheumatoid arthritis and she credits juicing with her increased mobility and lessened pain.

Check out the HSN website. They have customer ratings for their products.
It's worth a shot.

Best wishes.

I like my Jack Lalane. It is a pain to clean but I think they all are. I just made sure to soak it right after use. Also, just to add something ,stated before, you aren't supposed to put bananas in a juicer.

I am also looking for one. The one that has captured my attention is the Breville Die-Cast Juicer Elite. It costs $300. Here is a link for it. http://www.brevilleusa.com/juicing/die-cast-juice-fountai...
Maybe someone has this one and will comment on it. I'd love to read more about it also.
Have you seen the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead? http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/
I just watched it last week, and it made me very intrigued about juicing. He uses the Breville. It seems easy enough to use.

I purchased the jack la lane juicer. I love it. I don't think its difficult to clean but it depends on the person.

I would not suggest the Jack LaLaine Juicer. While it does do the job, the motor is noisy and the cleanup is a hassle.

I have been an avid juicer for over 20 years. I juice daily for myself, my husband and children. Breville would be the best bang for your buck and for your needs. Champion is by far the best juicer out there but requires a lot of prep work and would lead to loss of interest to a new juicer. Omega reviews well, however, it is A LOT of prep as well and the basket needs to be cleaned out frequently even with one glass of juice. IMHO.
Peace and Calm,
C.~
