Hi Moms:
I know the double stroller is a fequent mamasource question but I'm looking for specific feedback on the Joovy Caboose Ultralight stroller. I am expecting in January and my daughter will be 2.5. She already prefers to walk instead of riding. By the time spring rolls around, I think this sit/stand option will be the best. Any pros/cons on this particular stroller? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

We have this...was great when my youngest was little, but now that he is two - the front seat is a bit small and hard to steer with too much weight in it. Still use it occassionally, but mostly have switched to a single stroller. My biggest complaint (even as I was buying it) was the lack of storage below. The cargo area is very small. But still think it is one of the best choices out there for double strollers. And, two years of good use isn't bad for the price.

We have the Caboose. My girls are 3 years apart. To give you a background my husband is obsessed with strollers and so we have 6 or 7 counting single and double strollers. Honestly we really only used the Caboose when we had my youngest in the baby carrier - it was invaluable then. Now we generally don't use it at all. It is big and heavy. However, my single stroller that is in the car is the Peg Perego Pliko P3, which has a ledge that my oldest can stand on if she wants a lift. What has gotten a ton more use is our double-jogger (we walk-to-town a lot), which we purchased when the younger one was about 4 months. Right now we mainly use the double-jogger for walking and the Peg Perego for anything we drive to (they are 4.5 & 1.5 right now). Good luck!

Hello

I saw you have had a ton of responses on this question. I did not read any, so sorry if this answer is a repeat. I own that stroller. I thought it was great until my kids got bigger total weight btw the two is 60lbs. The stroller was perfect when they did not weigh as much but now pushing the two is tough. The stroller does not turn well if they are both in it. That is my only complaint. I bought the orange one that is easy to spot if you have to park it somewhere (example at the zoo)

Good Luck!

I really like mine. My four year old was having a hard time with the idea of no more stroller time as we were expecting and so it was a perfect option.

However, I did and do think that the stroller seat itselft could be more comfortable. I'm glad to have the all weather pad and I keep it on there all the time.

It's very sturdy though. Has one of the most weight allowances of that style of stroller.

Oh and cargo space - we walk to the grocery store often and I would have liked more cargo space under - I have a "mommy clip" that I keep on the stroller all the time to hang grocery bags off of.

Oh - my friend just purchased a mia moda (I think) and it seems to have a more trendy look to it. But I think it might not have the same weight allowance. Hers was a bit cheaper too.

I loved this stroller. It was lightweight, easy to steer and my boys were happy in it. I also found it much easier since they weren't side by side and fighting!

Hi,
I actually just sold my Baby Jogger double stroller and purchased the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. My son was 2 when my 2nd was born, and I thought he would still want to ride in a stroller so I opted to buy a side by side. Well after a few months of taking the stroller to the mall, park, etc, I realized that I was pushing the stroller half empty. Just like your girl, he wants to walk, and only needs a ride when he's tired which isn't very often. We tested the ultralight out and he loved it. We've had it for a month now and are really happy with it. I prefer my son walking anyway so it works out. And I like the easy fold. The only negative is that the front seat only has a 2 position recline so they can't lay flat, but a sleepy child can fall asleep half sitting up, right? =). Hope this helps!

I really liked it. The only problem I have is that my son is now 2 and we've totally outgrown it. He's tall and his feet can touch the ground if he tries. I actually was able to use it with more than the recommended weight with my daughter - she loved it. It's also great for storage with just one kid along. I got it as a shower gift and it was the best!

Debbie - two additional items for you. Background first: We just purchased this. We have 2 girls 4 years apart. We realized when the baby was 7 months that we needed some kind of double stroller. We bought the Joovy you mentioned. I wish we would have had it when the baby was a newborn. We never used the car seat attachment, our baby was out of the infant carrier at 6 months due to weight and length.

I love the stroller and the girls are happy with it. My 2 additional items are this. I drive a prius, and it's a tight squeeze to get the stroller into the back hatch - it fits, but only in one direction, and I have to kind of twist it in.

The 2nd item is we have big kids. The baby is now 9 months old - at her 6 month checkup she was 22 lbs and 28 inches. There isn't much room to get the baby in and out between the tray holder and the seat. And the straps are already out to their full length, and I'm not sure how they will work when she has a winter coat on - we'll find out soon enough.

Love the stroller - no stroller is perfect!
