Joint 3-In-1 Party, Gifts?

We are on a budget (isn't everyone these days!?) and my child was invited to an 8-year old party hosted by 3 b-day kids from 3 different families, a joint party. We typically give a $15 item, but there is no way that I can come up with $45 for one party! We are not able to attend all parties the kids are invited to and we try to space out the events to keep to our budget. I know families don't expect a large gift and it is the thought that counts, but aside from three books, any ideas for 3 lovely, low-cost gifts? Thanks!

S., Go to the blockbuster and buy 3 $5 gift cards. Then go to the dollar store and buy 3 boxes of candy and a package of microwave popcorn The candy is often on sale 2 for $2 at walgreens. you then tie the box of candy and one package of popcorn together with string and attach the gift card wala there is an evening of entertainment. This is a gift my kids give all the time. costs you a total of about $20 and you have 3 gifts. have fun at the party.

We love giving art supplies. The latest cool crayola markers are the best. And they are the right gift for each kid.

Tuesday Mornings. DO you have one near you? You can often find cute and fun toys there for under $10. Also, keep your eyes open at Toys R us. They often have buy one get one items. If it is a fun toy they won't mind the same thing. Lastly, Dollar Tree. Some of the stuff is junk but not all. YOu can buy stickers, balls, candy, art/craft items etc. and put them in a hand decorated lunch bag.

It may seem "Cliche" but gift certificates to sumthin' fun! My son enjoyed making a special trip to Baskin Robbin's to use his gift certificates. They sell them in $2 increments. What kid doesn't like Ice cream! It isn't as fun to open on the day of the party, but it does give the child something to look forward too! Good luck w/that!

Hi S.,
I sell Usborne Children's Books and I know they offer "kits" for kids. They have ones for Boys and girls and have ones that start at $7.99. I just ordered 1 for a b-day gift for a family friend and she says she loves it. She said it was nice to be able to give something that wasn't just a toy, but something that was educational and fun...and involved the family. If you look at them go to Kid Kits...also check out Internet Specials b/c there are a few that are on sale now.

Hey S.,
How about a 3 movie gift certificates? That would be around $20 or so, wouldn't it? Your child can make/decorate the cards...??
If its an all girl thing, how about having your child make them each a friendship bracelett? Or I think you can get pretty cheap art projects from JoAnne Fabrics.
Or, you could get some little boxes and have your daughter decorate them. You could say they were keepsake boxes or friendship boxes...you could put stickers in them or something super inexpensive.
Best bet, I'd say is to hit up an art supply store like Joanne's. My guess is you'll find lots of inspiration. I hope that helps!
blessings,
J.

You could buy plain tee-shirts or sun visors, etc... and then have your kids personalize them for each recipient. This is a great way to give a thoughtful gift at little expense to you.
