My grandma was the oldest of 22 siblings.. Which included 4sets of twins, and 2 sets of triplets.
Both sets of triplets were two identical, one fraternal.
Just wondering, has it ever happened that fraternal twins split into identical twins and the mom ends up with 3 or more? Lol weird but I wonder if its happened. Seems like that'd be the a hard pregnancy.
Thanks for the one story. IDC if Google easier. It's just more fun to start a conversation. Sorry, thought forums were for other reasons.

I like the question. I've never thought of this. I learned some new information. Thx
I think there was a woman in San Antonio that has 2 sets of identical twins as a result of this happening.
As Thea said, 2 eggs and 1 splits. My cousins triplets are fondly called "a pair, and a spare" :)
That happens all the time. That's a pretty common way of getting triplets (as uncommon as triplets are... before fertility treatments anyway). Two fertilized eggs... then one splits.
Kinda seems like the kind of thing you could have more easily googled than asked on mamapedia if you were actually curious, however.
