No guilt trips, right?
If that's the case, I would buy a plane ticket a couple of good books and take a vacation BY MYSELF! I wouldn't pack anything- just shop and buy what I needed there. Just a few days of quiet and rest.
So mommies...
If you got a chunk of cash, lets say around $5,000, to spend on anything you wanted
What would it be?
What present would you buy yourself?
Now I don't mean $5k that HAS to go to bills, debt etc
I mean a REAL present for yourself.
I still haven't decided what I would get lol
OO rachel, you made me think of something..
Tattoos. I draw my own and I have this huge piece I drew up dedicated to my kiddos but I don't have the money or time to do it.
I would have to travel to Chicago *that is where my artist is & I don't trust many others* and the piece would probably cover the whole top of my back. I would get that!
Oh and NO guilt trips, anything YOU can think of to spend it on.

This isn't really inventive, but I think I'd take my family on a REAL vacation. Meaning, a week long vacation at a really cool spot. Maybe Disney (only because neither me, hubs, or my son have been) or something else really cool. Never been on a week long vacation. Lots of long weekends, but never a full week. I think that's what I'd do.
I'd get cellulitis sucked out from around my knees (i'm not even overweight, what's up with that???) and get a series of massages to shape my legs beautifully. THAT will make a wonderful present!!
Boobs all the way for me! :)
Does it have to be a "thing" or can it be an "experience"?
If a thing--hmmmmm.....tough. Maybe a new mac laptop. Or ALL new clothes--from socks UP.
If an experience--plane tickets and a European vacation!
I think I would go for the HCG diet and lose the extra 30 lbs I have always wanted to lose then with the money left over go out and buy myself some new clothes once the weight has come off.......or maybe I should just go for liposuction and be done with it.......good question. I know maybe I would take a cruise since I have never been but I would want to take my family with me so it truly wouldn't be something just for "me"....of course it never is-lol!
i would fly to louisiana and get my bestest friend in the world, my big sissy, we'd get those matching tattoos that we've been planning to get for a million years but havent done bcz i'm in ohio and she's in louisiana, then we would take a cruise to idk where, but it would be a lovely break from life for a short while. ;ay back on the beach and be waited on by sexxxy cabana boys in a tarzan style loin cloth!!! ;-)
we have this all planned out!!!
I'd upgrade my wedding set:) diamonds are a girl's best friend!
Hmm.
A complete new wardrobe? I like the posting, "from the socks up!" I'd add a new pair of cowboy boots, to that, too.
Or, a professional organizer?
And, I've always wanted a trenchcoat. But I live in Central Texas. We have two weeks of winter (if that), and it's rained maybe twice here so far in 2011 - for about half an hour at a time. Even if I had the $5000, I would probably feel guilty about buying something that took up so much space, and got so little use. Sigh.
i would rip up all the carpet in my house and replace with a beautiful 18x18 slate tile :) it is my OCD dream to have no carpet(aka an uncleanable surface)!
Either $ towards a boob lift or lipo. Seriously! After baby # 3 I am soo unhappy with my body that $ like that would go towards helping me with my body image!!
Keep us posted if you think of something good!
Tummy tuck!!
Or tattoos...
Or shiny things :)
Trip to Disney World and another round of microdermabrasion.
new workout equipment and clothing $500
new clothes $2000
family vacation $2500
a tummy tuck (or down payment for one). or a pool. or close in my porch to another room. or an awesome vacation somewhere i've never been before.
A car (we have 1 we share)
Plane tickets to visit my family
I know I could do both w/money to spare! I'd use the rest as spending money on our trip :)
Aaaaaah....I can dream, can't I!
Ipad
Trip to Disney World
New buffet cabinet for my dining room
Tummy tuck. Absolutely.
I would put in a pondless waterfall in the back yard and finish creating my back yard oasis. And a new camera.
We would go to Europe to visit our foreign exchange daughter.
Or go back to Disney with a carefree attitude and let the girls get Princessified. Ahhh THey're too old, I'll take my hubby's nieces.
Go to San Diego to see my son, or Hawaii when he gets stationed there.
Put two windows on the south side of my house where there are no windows at all.
And with whatever is left over I would get some clothes other than tshirts.
If I got that money and had no bills or taxes to pay, I would definitely spend it in a trip.
Where to go would depend on the amount of $$ and if I want to go with my family or with a friend or by myself, but I’ve always thought that traveling, especially to foreign countries, helps you grow and open your mind to new ideas and ways of living, even if its just to a different state than the one you live in.
Downpayment on a new camera (costs about 5k, but I'd pay half and finance the rest), & a Beaches Vacation in the Caribbean with my son.
I would give myself a small make over - hair - nails - a new outfit - and go on a cruise or other fun vacation
Ugh! There is seriously something wrong with me!
Even after reading everyone else's answer, I'm thinking, "I'd put it in a CD" !!
Spa day with all the works: mani, pedi, facial you name it followed by a massage, trip to the store for new clothes and shoes and also a trip to vegas with my girlfriends. Another trip with husband and then $100 to bribe work for a few extra vacation days. have someone come in and clean my house. i might give my sister in law $1000 to watch my son while i'm vacationing with the husband.
A whole new bedroom suite and linens. I've been eyeing this chocolate brown leather king size bed and espresso brown dresser, nightstand, and armoire. Super modern and clean. Kind of masculine, so, I will pair it with light airy linens.
Then, I would take us all on a great family vacation. 2 parts. 1st leg of the trip with the kids, 2nd leg, without the kids.
I would SHOP!!! Buy clothes, shoes and more clothes and more shoes. SHOP SHOP SHOP! That would be great :)
I'd fix our vehicle, paint the outside of our house, finish the interior trim, paint the kitchen, visit my friends in NOLA, buy myself a few fancy digs, and stash the rest. Having financial piece of mind WOULD be a fantastic gift!
Definitely I would spend a chunk of it on new clothes (well, on second thought, I'd save that for when I reach my goal weight)
I would absolutely redecorate the house and turn my bedroom into the perfect love nest
I would splurge on a beautiful cross to wear around my neck all the time to remind me of how Christ has saved me from darkness. He is my everything. :)
I'd go buy a whole new wardrobe! Shoes and all! It seems like I'm always looking for my kids and husband, but rarely buy for myself!
I'd use it as a down payment for a convertible red corvette. =)
Either a Chanel bag or Cartier Tank watch and then a liquid face lift (something like Botox or Radiesse)
