I am part of Kaiser, and know it may be hard to find, but I'm looking for a holistic doc that is going to be open to natural health care and cures, an alternative vaccine schedule and someone generally in support of our own bodies wisdom and natural defenses only being supplemented with medication when absolutely necessary.

I dont know if Kaiser would have this as well, and not sure if they only hire MD's or what. But you may want to look for a doctor that's a D.O. A Doctor of Osteopathy. They are board certified positiions, but they take on a whole body approach. Most DO's are family physicians so they would would also be able to take care of your children.

I called someone in the summertime about this...don't recall where and the name, but it was on the Pennisula...maybe San Carlos. I have saved the article about holistic health and don't recall off had where I placed it. I suggest you call the parent magazine - it was in one of there issues, so they should be able to help you. I remember they quoted me $300 just for a visit and consultation.

I work at Kaiser Redwood City and though my Pediatrician doesn't practice holistic medicine he is cautious and does listen to us. I would say a very good place to start is at member services in the Willow bldg next to the parking garage. They will know if there are any docs or NP's that are more holistic than others. We have had really good luck with Dr. Easter and NP Ketner. They are always cautious before prescribing unecessary medications and have been a wealth of advice. You can also check with Health Education in the Cypress Bldg. Are you taking the birthing classes there? If so the teacher of the class is a very spiritual person and is very holistic with herself and her children and she may be of more help in this area. Congratulations and good luck!
Within Kaiser unfortunately I do not know of anyone like this. The only pediatrician in your area that I know fits your description is Elisa Song. She is a Medical Doctor in Bellmont who is open to all natural practices. She practices natural and holistic care whenever possible.
