Is This an Injury Caused by Chiroprator

I had a pinched nerve in my left hip/thigh. I went to a chiropractor who used various treatment methods. At the end of the session, she used a very strong pulsing industrial size vibrator on the muscles in my left thigh while applying a lot of pressure. This procedure hurt a lot. That was a month ago and the muscles in my upper left leg still hurt badly. I wonder if my current pain could have been caused by the vibrator? Does anyone have experience with this?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the responses. Regarding my use of the Mamapedia website: I found it when I was googling to find out if my pain was the result of the remedy. An answer from Mamapedia came near the top of my search. Without thinking much about the purpose of the site, I wrote the question. My bad.

I wasn't thinking about suing didn't cross my mind. I am just in so much pain and it has lingered so long. The pain started when I was traveling. I called my doctor back in Chicago but she was out of the office and the fill-in doctor didn't know me and was reluctant to treat over the phone, so I went to an emergency clinic. I am allergic to Aleve and other ibuprophens, so all the doctor could do was to prescribe a muscle relaxer and hydrocodone for pain. The codone knocks me out and makes me sick to my stomach. So I went to a chiropractor in the town where I was staying -- only had time for one treatment. When I got back to Chicago, my doctor prescribed physical therapy which I've started, but I am still in pain all the time. I cannot sleep. Hate the codone. Aspirin is powerless. I'm desparately miserable

What an odd question for a first timer to ask on a parenting forum.

well, when you have an injury it's likely that it will take some time and more than one session with a chiro to fix it.
sounds to me like someone looking for an excuse to sue.

Assuming this is a real question... I am sorry but there are a lot of trolls here, this is a parenting website and my first impression of your question is that you are looking for a reason to sue the Dr.

That said.... Have you communicated with the Dr? If not, why not?
Have you only had 1 treatment? Many ailments take more than 1 treatment to correct the issue. It takes time for some things to heal.. it is a process not a simple fix.

My suggestion is to talk to your Dr. and ask why you may have pain in that area and how many treatments does the Dr. think it may take to correct your issues.

Be proactive and try to get this situation resolved so you FEEL better and are healed vs trying to come up with reasons to sue which will probably get you nowhere because people do not look too kindly on silly lawsuits.

J.,

Welcome to mamapedia!!!

How many times did you visit the chiropractor? Most times it takes more than one treatment to fix a pinched nerve. To have one on your HIP and not it be sciatic nerve, is interesting.

You should have spoken up with the procedure was painful.

It's a month out and you are still in pain? You need to talk to a doctor about it....I'm not a doctor but if you are in pain a month later? Your body is telling you something is wrong...

Good luck!

Hi J.,

Sounds like you only went one time? Chiropractic is based on time and repetition. Pinched nerves take multiple visit to work thru. But to your question, it's very likely the vibrator caused the pain, but if you continue, it will stop hurting. MOST importantly, it will heal the problem. It's similar to working out. It hurts in the beginning but eventually your body adapts and becomes stronger.

It's more likely the pain is from the injured nerve. Those vibrators do move things around but not permanently. They are meant to loosen the muscles so blood flow can reach the injured part better and help it heal.

Try ice on the hurting area and anti-inflammatory meds.

I would probably talk to the chiropractor about it. The muscle may be bruised possibly.
