Is My Tilapia Still Good?

Popped some tilapia in the fridge from the freezer on Wednesday night before bed to cook on Thursday evening. Life happened and a simple casserole was thrown together :). So my tilapia thawed overnight and was in the fridge all day yesterday and half the day today. I just pulled it out to throw it into some marinade and it seemed a little fishy. But then it may always be that way but I am just not thinking about it because I usually cook it right after thawing. So can I get some votes on whether or not it's still good?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We ate it! Baka Lime Tilapia, Spanish rice and veggies, it was yummy, thanks ladies :). Looking forward to fish tacos tomorrow!

If it has been in the fridge, it is fine.

Tilapia is known to have a strong smell. Tilapia is common here in Hawaii.
If it has been in the fridge the whole time, it is fine.
Assuming, it thawed in the fridge... overnight. Then was still, in the fridge until now, today.

If it was wrapped well and stayed in the fridge it should be fine.

To add, it depends on whether it realy fishy or ocean fishy. A friend of mine won;t eat any fish because they all smell fishy--even fresh.

It's fine. A day and a half in the fridge isn't going to hurt it.

I have had the same thing happen... its usu just a quality thing but won't hurt you at all... and imo any tilapia that has been frozen seems a bit fishy once you thaw it. :)

If it smells fishy, I wouldn't eat it or feed it to my family. That's usually a sign that fish has gone bad. Sorry.
