Hi S.,
It sounds like it could be a lot of things. Sorry, sounds like a good question for a doctor :(
I wouldn't panic, though, unless you are having unusually heavy bleeding.
Good luck!

I recently had a baby in june of 09 and my period became irregular. I was getting it for 2 weeks a few days and then just skipping months. Around october I stopped having my period and it just started back up Jan 2nd. Now it won't stop I'm having some mild pain on the left side of my stomach. I was wondering if I should be concerned or if anyone knows what could possibly be wrong.

Hello S.:
I would recommend going to the Gynecologist to get an examination. In addition, I suggest an appointment with a qualified healthcare practitioner in natural remedy support. Whatever may be going on, it can be safely and gently addressed with wellness options, such as Aromatherapy, Herbal and Homeopathy. Many factors could play a role in what's going on, such as, diet, hormones, emotional stress, past trauma and so on.
My office is available to assist you. I can provide a telephone or in-person consultation, starting with learning more about your health history; this would help to zone in on the issue and from there I would recommend the most suitable wellness options for you, that my office would provide, this could be products and/or bodywork.
Please feel free to visit the site at www.wholecreations.com/wombfull.html and call to discuss further ###-###-####).
All the best,

Go see your GYN as soon as possible. It may be that your body is just taking time re-adjusting to a new hormonal balance, but it could also be something much more serious. Only your Dr can tell you if it is cause for concern or not, and if it is serious, the longer you wait, the worse it gets.
My first thought would have been to call your doctor. Have you done that yet? I certainly wouldn't wait...
Hi S.,
It's normal to have irregular periods when you're still breastfeeding, but if you are not breastfeeding and are having irregularities with your period after baby, you really should bring this subject to your doctor. He or she is the only one who could tell you if there is something wrong and what it might be. The internet is a great source of support and sharing of experiences, but it's not the place to look for a medical diagnosis. Please be sure to contact your doctor if you are concerned.
S.,
If it's not stopping and you have pain on your side, I recommend you go see your gyn as soon as possible. It's better to be safe than sorry. Go check yourself out, it may not be serious, but that does not sound normal. You have a baby and you need to take care of yourself better than ever, that little one is counting on you. Please go see your gynecologist.
I was wondering if you were breastfeeding. I know that when I was breastfeeding I didn't have my period at all whereas two weeks after my friend delivered her baby she got her period and she was breastfeeding, but again, you said it was irregular. You should see the gynecologist and see what may be the problem and having mild pain on the left side of your stomach that doesn't sound good. I know that I get pain on my right side and sometimes on my left side in the abdomen area (not in the stomach area) when I ovulate, and this didn't happen until after I had my second child. So, you should see a doctor about those things and get to the bottom of what may be the cause of these various thing and they may not be anything. Please let us know what happened and I will be praying for you S..
