Ew Granma T, that sounds yucky! Fanning them with their odors!

All vaginas have an odor, I am a fat bird, so mine has the odor, as well as a sweaty odor to it after a while. I swim every day, so that keeps my odor to a manageable level, but it's always there somewhat.

Do you wear pants or undies make of synthetic fibers? The Vag needs oxygen to regulate so you should only wear cotton and other natural breathable fibers. Also if you use panty liners are not a good idea for all the time use, they keep moisture locked close to the body, better to wear cotton undies and change them if need be.

It is probably not as bad as you think.
What does your husband say?
Men love that aroma.

In the cowboy days the saloon girls would wave their skirts up and down at them, fanning them with their "essence"...to get takers.

Cut out the baths. You honestly don't need two baths a day. If you are taking them because you are working out and other things throughout the day then plan your workouts and "dirty" work so that you are only taking one shower/bath a day.
Stay away from douches because they will make the problem worse or even lead to an infection since it washes out all the good bacteria as well as the bad.
Make sure you are eating healthy and drinking plenty of fluids that should be mostly water.
As another person suggested check your underwear, pants, jeans and other clothing that is in your crotch. You might want to look into making your own laundry soap. The reason I suggest that is because you will have less build up in your clothing than regular store bought stuff and it is by far cheaper and last longer than store bought. A short wash with a cup or two of vinegar will help cut the build up of laundry soap in your clothes.
Again on the clothing, cotton if your friend. And at night if possible sleep without underwear or pjs. Keep them close to the bed just in case you have to get up but sleeping without them will give your body air out time.

I suggest that if you have a vaginal odor that you test for an infection. Or take a bath/shower. I don't mean to be crude but one just should not have a vaginal odor if one's hygiene is good.

After your SWH what did the doctor suggest was the cause of the odor?

I agree that wearing cotton panties might be helpful. And do they smell clean when you put them on. They might not be getting clean in the wash. Often people use too much detergent which builds up in the clothes and causes a smell.

You may want to check and make sure you don't have an infection before you try a home remedy. Most odors are contributed to something that needs to be treated.

I used to have this problem too. Not sure what cured it, but I would suggest for sure:
- less baths, more showers
- eat yogurt - good bacteria in it kills the bad bacteria "down there"
- cotton undies
- no tight pants (less air can circulate down there)
- lots of water, less alcohol

How long have you had the odor?

The reason I ask is because I have noticed a natural "cycle" with myself having different odors, strong to mild to no odor at all. It could just be that.

Try going with out any undies for a couple of days. Wear a sundress or something during the day and go commando at night and see if there is a difference.

Excess hair may trap odors...try trimming up a bit and that may help

Too many baths can throw off your Ph balance down there. Sweating (it's summer and it's hot!) will cause extra odor too. All women have a smell and if you've been to the DR and all is fine, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. And Grandma T is right on!! Men love that smell, it turns them on :) I can smell myself sometimes and I think it is our paranoia that if we can smell it then everyone else can too and they think we stink!!! If it makes you feel better you can douche NO MORE than 1 time every other month, take a probiotic/eat yogurt, and do some landscaping down there if you don't shave/trim already as the excess hair will hold and trap moisture.

Good luck and relax, you are totally normal down there ;)

It's a shame that your physician didn't test for enough organisms that cause BVV. Other than the musty smell, are you in pain or do you experience itching?

My doctor told me to get Vagisil. I ended up having a yeast infection after she did the test, but if it had not been one, I would have tried the Vagisil.

It's a wash - google it on the internet. Maybe they'll give you a coupon...

Good luck!
