My 4 1/2 yo son just started taking Intuniv. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it? What can I expect?

What can I do next?

Yep, my 13yr old takes it for his tics, ADHD and other issues associated with his autism. He's been on it since October of last year and so far, so good. No drowsiness or any other side-effects that we have noticed...

We have had a good experience so far. We changed to taking it at night when it made her drowsey, but other than that, it is been very helpful.

We had the same experience as Martha. My 8 year old has been on Intuniv (3 mg dose) for over a year now for ADHD and has done realy well with it. Only side effect we have seen was sleepiness, so he takes it before bed at night and doing that we have no problems during the day with it. He is an all A student, pays attention in class, can concentrate on his work and deals better overall in the classroom. We have been very happy with him being on it, especially because it is a non-stimulant.

Our son takes it in its pure Tenex form and it's helping him for tics. We haven't seen any drowsiness from it, but that's apparently the most common side effect.

My son got super drowsy on it. Even taken at night he was falling asleep in class. We only gave it a week but unfortunately the side effect was more than we could deal with.
