It all depends on the area you are looking for care in. I live in Brooklyn Center and I charge $140/wk for an infant.
I believe you can call your county and ask for general rate information.
Good luck....
I'm just begining to look for in-home child care for my baby (I'm due in May). As a first-time mom, I have no idea what is reasonable to pay someone per week. Any helpful suggestions?
Thank you!

Hi K.,
Congratulations on your upcoming bundle!
I do in-home care, unlicensed, and charge for a full time child $125 per week. My back up care giver is also unlicensed and she charges $100 per week. We're in Apple Valley and try to set our prices close to the other daycares. Hope it helps! You may find some charge more for an infant because of the extra hands on. Most places won't let you start till 6 weeks.
Good luck!

Usually somewhere between $150 - 200 a week for in-home.
My son goes to a licensed in-home daycare Mon-Wed. I pay $30.00 per day.
Hi K.,
if you are looking at in-home care in the St. Paul area i would expect that you would pay somewhere between $150-200 a week for an infant. it usually goes down a bit once they turn 1. Currently i pay $125/week for my 3 yr old and 1.5yr old but it was $150 for infants. Centers cost quite a bit more i think although i have never used one. Hope this helps and good luck with your new baby!
