I'm Looking for Activities for My Children

I was online this morning reading the Ledger and on the home page there was a listing of all the sports & recreation for the county this summer and fall. This list includes: basketball, gymnastics, baseball & softball, swimming, soccer & football. The web page is: www.theledger.com also there is a listing of the addresses for the 4 skate parks in the area.
Also, I know that Winter Haven really supports their cheerleaders as last year I believe the city's team won 8 medals in different divisions. They are the Polk County All stars their number is: ###-###-####, there is also a gymnastics club here, but I can't think of the name of it. Might be in the listing from The Ledger.

Hi A.. I can't help you with activities for the older kids, except to say that I remember seeing flyers for kids yoga and gymnastics at the Children's museum in Lakeland. (inside the front door neer the wall). As for the little one, there is a place on Cypress gardens Blvd (i think called extreme kids) that i've heard of. I know they do music classes there for little ones. Unfortunately, there is no Gymboree in town. There is a playgroup that meets at the Regency Medical center on Weds. If you call there, you can get more infor from Kathie Lambert. She runs the group. Additionally there are a lot of activities that go on at Family fundamentals in Lakeland such as mommy and me, etc...I hope this helped. My kids are 1 and 3, so I, too, am always looking for fun activities.

Winter Haven is actually a pretty developed area in Polk County so you shouldn't have any problems finding all of the above close enough for your children. Lakeland is also pretty close to Winter Haven if you can't find anything there. I had my daughter in the Florida GymMasters gymnastics program and we were pretty pleased with them. They share a gym with the Polk County All Stars/Galaxy something cheerleaders. The number to the gymnastics program is ###-###-#### and Rich Masters is the owner/instructor. My daughter loved going and wants to get back into it. We only stopped going because I had a baby and she got into soccer. Otherwise, we were pretty pleased with their programs.
