My husband works redicullios hours & is home on weekends but I don't get to spend much time with him. I was wondering if theres anyone of you who would like to call one another once in a while or write or something. Don't get me wrong, I love being a stay at home mom, but when the babys sleeping & my husbands working I would like to do something else besides clean. Also i tried doing the meet up groups & since i dont drive yet they denyed me in.

AMEN FOR YOUR HONESTY! I totally relate. It is like I just want a grown up to talk to. my husband has been off work for 3 years due to an injury he had at work. i got use to him being home with me and now he is going to school full time and will be back to work in June. not oly do I miss his company but his help with our toddler.I had not realized how much I needed him or got use to him being here. it is also so difficult for our daughter, she cries all day for daddy because she is 3 and he has been home her entire life.He has been equally active in the parenting role with her also. Unlike our other daughter who comes to me for everything, Kiya wants daddy. I have really had to fight depression for the last 5 months being home alone without him. I never really got into chat rooms and I lost contact with most my single girlfriends. I have a few fiends with children but most work full time and don't have a free minute because during there free time they have to care for there homes and kids. So iwould glady enjoy chatting with you. I am 38 I have 3 children but only my 2 daughters ages 8 and 3 live with me. My son is 13 and lives with my mother. I am a recovweing addict with 4 years clean and I do spend a lot of time on my recovery. i use to attend Narcotic Anynomous meetings but don't really have time for that any more. I live in baltimore, maryland and have been with my hubby 10 years. We are very in love and are still alfter all these years still happy to see each other every day and i still get butterflies when I know he is coming home. I still think he is the most hansome man that ever lived and we are just great together. I enjoy being with him and my kids more than anything and that is what I do best, care for them. Hi R.. I know exactly what your saying. My husband also works Monday - Saturday from 10am to 9pm so its along day for me and the kids.

hi! wow! it seems there are lots of us who have our husbands work long hours or away. Mine usually travels from Mon-Thursday. Sometimes we join him, others we don't and then at night time, when my girls (4 and 17 months) are sleeping... it gets too quiet.
What do you think about making a yahoo group for "STAY AT HOME MOMS SUPPORT GROUP" or something like that!?
I would love to receive letters also :) And just to think I'm not the only one staring at the computer (or the ceiling of the apartment :P) at night, it makes me feel a bit better :P

I know what your going through. My fiance works all the time also. I'm lucky if I get to spend time with him. I've been with him for 5yrs now and we have a 2 yr old daughter. It is definetly great being an at home mom but it does get frustrating when you don't really have any adult conversation in your life. well if your interested in a friend to talk to just respond and we'll take it from there.

Also, check out www.matchingmoms.org. It's a great site geared toward helping moms with little ones meet up for playdates and such within their local area. I've met a few pretty good friends for both myself and my son through that site who we see on a pretty regular basis. It's free to register, so it can't hurt to check it out :-)

I totally understand how you feel. My husband also works weird hours. hes home in the morning but is usually sleeping. he works from 1 in the afternoon till 10, 11, or 12 at night....by then me and my son are asleep. We're really sturggling with this and fight a lot about it. All i can say is, try to hang in there. As a new mom i dont have many friends that stay at home but i find that baking cookies and cakes help. Crafts are also fun if you can find one you like.

Sorry for the late response, but I have just become a stay at home mom in the last couple of months. I've been using the computer at my sons pre-school and finally got a new home computer last Friday.
I also get lonely due to my husbands frequent traveling schedule. Every month he leaves anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks at a time. I would love to meet up with other SAHM's by phone, email, play dates, etc. Please feel free to to send me an email if you are interested in making a new friend.
