My husband is out of town. Last night I took a pegnancy test and it came back + He comes in very late tonight, but I wanted to let him know we are expecting in a special way. Any suggestions?
That you guys so much for all your ideas! I decided to keep it a little simple. He did not arrive home until after midnight and sitting next to his sink in the bathroom was a card I had made. The card read: "Dear Dad" in the inside it said, "Thanks for the genes. Love, Baby" and had the + pregnancy test taped inside. I had woken up when he came in but pretended to be asleep. He yelled my name when he saw it and I couldn't stop laughing. We stayed up until 3:00 am tossing and turning but it was worth it to see the look on his face. Thanks again!
I fixed a special dinner...with baby lamb chops, baby carrots, and baby cakes. Eventually he got the hint.

I know it is last minute but you could put a t-shirt on your son saying "big brother". That would include you both in the surprise! Good luck!!
Give him his favorite beverage in a baby bottle or have your 1 year old be sleeping in a "I'm a big brother" t-shirt when he goes in to peek at him.

I did this once: Wrote the news on a note and then put it in a small box, wrapped it up, bow and all, and gave it to my husband as a gift. He loved it!

I love the idea of getting a Big Brother shirt for your son..they have cute ones at Babies R Us. Another thing my friend did was to make a gift bag with a Congrats card for the Dad-To-Be and a new infant bib that says I Love Daddy or something cute, maybe even "I love my Big Brother" in your case... Another friend did the same thing with a new pair of baby shoes in the gift bag for Daddy. I an "invitation" ould be cute too....maybe say Daddy is invited to a "welcome to the World" party for the new baby on whatever due date you have calculated!
I also spread the news of both my pregnancies to my out of town family (my mom and my grandma) by sending a small bouquet of bue and pink carnations with a card saying that our family was growing...

A big brother shirt would be neat. But there are lots of fun ideas. Coming up with your own would be best. My friend put a pacifier in her husbands box of chinese rice. I didn't say anything and went out and bought a maternity top that said baby 1985 when pregnant with my first one. My neighbor served baby peas, baby carrots, etc.... It took him awhile but he figured it out. I think I liked what my sister in law did as one of the best ideas. She went out and got bubble gum cigars and left them laying on the tv stand, kitchen table, night stand, etc........My brother was so funny- he asked her who had a baby. She said I don't know. He said well what are the cigars for and she told him to figure it out. In about two minutes he was hugging her and kissing her and aksing when the due date was........
I bought newbord socks, a Congratulations Dad card and a pregnancy test. I wrapped up each one seperately and told him to pick a gift. No matter which one he picked, he would get the hint. He chose the long skinny one and he knew right away. His oldest daughter says "she got you a thermometer?" hahahaha!
Can you get your son a tshirt that says big brother? good luck wish i had more ideas!
