Any ideas of what to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Austin with a 3.5 month old? Looking for something daddy, baby, and mom can do that is fun and gets us out of the house. Thank you!

Check out the calendar in Parent:Wise Austin (parentwiseaustin.com), it's always chock full of fun!

I don't remember very well, (it was all a blur!) but if your little one is looking around and aware of surroundings, why not take the family out to Fountain Plaza by Palmer Events Center? It's across the street from Auditoreum Shores, downtown Austin. There are always many families with children and babies, and the vibe is great! Open, grassy spaces for a picnic blanket, and lots of space to fly a kite, too. The water park is a favorite of the children--you hear the constant sounds of giggles and laughter, plus you might meet another family with a young child for future playdates. Good luck!

Congrats on your baby!

Since your 3mos old will still probably sleep anywhere, having your baby with you doesn't restrict you as much as it will in a couple of months when you'll want to be home for nap time :-)

I don't know what part of Austin you're in...And I have more ideas for older babies and young children than I do for 3mos olds...

Little Stacy park is nice. Lots of shade and lots of people while not being too crowded. Also a public pool(though I don't know when it opens). Here's a map.

If you're further south, Circle C Met Park near Slaughter and MoPac is another shady park that always has kids around.

Further South, there's the Outlet Malls in San Marcos...

That's all I've got for Sunday afternoons....

Saturdays you could go to the Farmer's Market!! We try to go fairly often and always have fun
