Hi T.,
You sound like me. I'll be 40 in 3 months and was 36 with my baby and 33 with my oldest. I'm totally alone here, single, Mom 2,000 miles away and Dad 1,000 miles away. I just quit my teaching job because the Dr. said stress was to blame for my migraines as well as fibrocystic breast pain. Stress of doing it all was too much for me. I'll figure out a way, for me it's writing. Think about business writing maybe... There is also things like web pages and affliate marketing. If you believe, you can achieve. I trust that and I'm raising 2 boys, bought a house and am doing it alone. What about college? I'm a grad student, so my student loans (gasp) supplement my budget. We are doing fine, it's a tight budget, but the stress is under my control. Life is good and I'm free.
My son's are on medicaid and it's great. We don't get other assistance right now except for WIC. Just knowing that I don't have to worry about the medical is a relief. Keep in mind though, in case of emergency, Medicaid will retroact coverage for up to 3 months. (did in VA when I needed it). It covered me as well.
There are discounts plan also, but I never went for this since I just banked on not needing it. These plans cost like $40-60/month and say they charge half or so of what a DR would really cost. Some are good. I used to sell AmeriPlan for dental, and the good thing is that you can still buy a plan and cancel it when you don't need it anymore..this is why I didn't make more money:(
T., at our age and such young kids, we started this late for a reason. Enjoy it, really. As long as you won't go hungry and have the basics, the rest can come later in my eyes. Time=Childhood, this is all we have.
smiles, Julie
