I need a pediatrician who supports breastfeeding and who accepts Medicaid. Right now my son has Medipass. My son is due for his two month check up and shots so please recommend your pediatrician if you are happy with them. I live in the Casselberry area but am willing to drive to nearby cities.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

I"m not sure if they accept Medicaid but try Interlachen Peds. They have a maitland office (barely in maitland it's almost in Casselberry). They have 11 drs. and all that I saw when my daughter was young supported breastfeeding. We were to the point where we were in every other day checking weight because she was dropping so fast and not a single person asked me to switch to formula. We primarly see Dr. Holson but we have seen almost every dr there. Unfortunatley my daughter has been sick alot in her 9 months but they are great we love both offices and all the drs and nurses there!

Hi-
I know Dr. Rodriguez in Maitland has a Lactation Consultant on staff named Pat Lindsey. She is wonderful! I am traveling so I don't have his phone number on me-sorry.

Dr. Jennifer Theilhelm is wonderful. We've only been there a few times but really like her. She's in Maitland (we live in Casselberry) and it's only about a 15 to 20 minute drive. I don't have her number handy but you can google it. She's with Pysicians Associates. Hope you find a pediatrician that works for you!

When I was pregnant I searched high and low for a pediatrician that believed in supporting parents and their right to make the decisions for their child when it came to health care decisions. I wanted someone who support breastfeeding (and encourage it!), would allow my husband and I to decide which vaccines to give and when, etc. I didn't want a holistic doctor, but I did want someone who would educate us on the pros and cons and then respect our wishes. I am happy to say that Dr.Marie Quinonez has been phenomenal. She is everything we wanted, plus she is wonderful with my son. She truly loves the children she cares for and it shows.

She not only encourages breastfeeding if that is your choice, but she even is encouraging if you decide to breastfeed for an extended period of time. My son is 27 months old and she and her office staff have always been supportive of my breastfeeding relationship with my son.

She is at:
