I am looking for an alternative school that is small,perhaps a Charter school that teaches Bible classes. Ofcourse, Private Christian schools from 10th grade-12th grade is preferrable. Thanks for any input of areas close to Frisco or Plano (2nd choice)
My daughter attends Legacy Christian Academy and so far, we're very pleased. We have a new Headmaster that is starting this summer. good luck. LCA is truly a Christ-centered school.
I have a friend whose children attend Prince of Peace Christian school and really loves it.
My husband had taught at Legacy Christian in the past, not too impressed with some of the politics through administration, but the Bible teacher is someone he knows and respects. I can say that, in McKinney, McKinney Christian is awesome! Our twins will begin Kindergarten there next year and my husband will be teaching high school there next year.
I personally attended a Christian school in Dallas, and I currently teach at one as well (12th grade). I can completely recommend the following: Jesuit (all boys) or Ursuline (all girls), St. Marks in Dallas (all boys)--fabulous school, Trinity Christian Academy (fabulous curriculum), or John Paul II in Plano (new, but very impressive and up and coming). All of these schools are well established and have proven track records of excellence. Look into SAT scores, AP tests taken and passed, percentage who attend major universities, and number of teachers who hold masters degrees in the school. Good luck to you!
I taught at Prestonwood Christian and I would not send my kids there, knowing what I know from the inside. I have had close dealings with both Trinity and McKinney Christian and they seem to be reasonably good choices in this area. Good luck!
I went to private school in Dallas many moons ago. I always loved it and wanted my kids to go. But prices these days are rediculous. I have found Catholic scholls to be the cheapest. Legacy, Prestonwood, and Trinity to be moer and Greenhill, Hockaday, etc to be the highest. You will have problems at any school I have found. Expecially if you work it, you know the inside secrets. There is a charter school in Little Elm and The Colony. I had my daughter in the Little elm last year in kinderguarten. I pulled her out the second school was out. At graduation the head told the K class he was getting a divorce in front of everyone. This raised many questions that I never wanted to talk about at 5. That was the icing on the cake. But my neighbor is the pricipal in The colony. She is a good person. You should check out her school. But if money is not a problem. Corum Deo is great I hear but not full time. Prestonwood Christian is the best one in my opinion.
But have you looked into Corem Deo? I have heard amazing things about that, too. You do half the work at school and half at home.
