I am looking for a good gym for my 4 and 5 year olds that offers not only gymnastics but dance classes as well i.e. ballet, tap, jazz. I has SO MUCH FUN from the time I was 5 until I was a sophmore in highschool participating in these activities.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

The only reservation I have about the Y and their services is if I have to leave one child while the other participates in an activity, I would have to leave her in the playroom and I am not comfortable with the germ factor.
Both my kids have CF and whenever they get the slightest cold it has the potential to turn into a sinus/lung infection. Both were hospitaziled twice last year b/c of infection.
I want somewhere where I can keep an eye on them both at the same time.
I guess I will just have to call around for a while and see what is available.
I sure do appreciate all of the recommendations though!
I really enjoy this website and the obvious support that the mom's show each other.
Thank You
Jenny

Hi, you can take them to the Y and have them both in the same classes. the wonderful thing is that as long as you are there to pick them up after class you can do something else with the other one. Also the south Y has a rule of if your kid has a "runny nose" they cannot go into the Kids Zone. If not you can try ReyAnn's in Derby. I am not sure on the spelling, but I have heard that they cost a TON of money!!! L.

I would try the YMCA. They offer all of the classes you are looking for. I have worked there and have taken my children to some of them and they really enjoyed them!

Hi J.,

I know all the YMCA's offer both gymnastics and dance. As far as finding both is a little challenging. I only have a 2 yr. old son, so we've enrolled him into a couple of different gym classes. We've also tried the Wichita Gymnastics club and there's a new place on the east side called My Gym. I've heard of great things of a gymnastics place down in Derby too especially for birthday parties, but I can't remember the name of it and we live all the way north so, we've never been there. As far as dance I do not have much knowledge of that, but do know there are tons of dance studios around.
