There is a female pediatrician (Dr. Linda Adames Colon) speaking at the Weston Library tonight at 7pm. You may want to check her out. The topic is raising a healthy child and she seems to be holistic minded.
If you are willing to drive a bit further south, theres a great female pediatrician in Miramar. Her office is in the Memorial Miramar Hospital/Medical Bldg. Both my daughter(18mths) & my grandson(15mths) are patients from birth. Shes very caring, takes her time on the visit, always squeezes you in same day for a sick child, mother of 2 children. Hi K.. Have you tried Pediatrics Associates? They have a lot of offices throughout Broward. My LC says all of their peds are breastfeeding friendly.
Check out Dr. Linda Colon-Adames. She is fantastic if you tell her you are for the all natural stuff because she calls herself a Holistic MD. Great combo for us breastfeeders! She is located in a little office next to Publix in the shopping center just off of I-75 and Griffin Exit in the Southeast corner behind the huge car dealership. I think it is considered Davie because it is on the opposite side of I-75 from Weston. Before I had my first son (7 years ago - time flies) I did my research and found a really great group of doctors, both male and female. They are the doctors of Children's Medical Associates. They are located in Pembroke Pines (Taft just off of Flamingo), Chapel Trail (on Pines Blvd.) and Hollywood (across from Memorial Hospital & Joe Demoggio Children's). My chosed doctor is not a woman, but is Dr. Mitchell Samuels, O.D., but there are several very good female doctors to choose from. You can make an appointment in advance and sit and talk with them. I breast fed all three of my children and have had nothing but complete encouragement from them. And, they don't over prescribe antibiotics either. They will even suggest some homeopathic remedies before they push meds. Their number is ###-###-####. Good luck on your very important decision - no matter who you choose.
