I Am Going Crazy!! How Will I Pass the Time for the Next 9 Days??

So, there is a good chance that I'm pregnant but I won't be able to take a test until next Saturday at the earliest. I am a terribly, impatient person and I don't know how I'll wait that long to find out. We did not plan to have another baby, but will deal with it if I am indeed pregnant. I am nervous and anxious and just want to know. What can I do to take my mind off of this? I feel like it's consuming all of my thoughts right now. I know I shouldn't worry until I have something to worry about, but I've never been able to do that. What's more, I've been feeling slightly nauseous over the last couple of days. I thought maybe it was psychological, but it occurs even when I'm having a few moments of not thinking about the what ifs. I've heard women say they started getting morning sickness within days of conception, although I know it's not the norm. I never had much queasiness with any of my three pregnancies so I don't know what to make of this unless it's a touch of a bug, but I don't feel different otherwise. What do you all do to pass the time or get your mind off of waiting for something?????

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Jo, I hope you're right, but the pamphlet said that if you miss two doses in the first week of the pack you can become pregnant, and that you should use a back up method (which we did not do. I realized I had missed two pills after we had unprotected sex). It stated this AFTER providing the instructions for taking two pills a day. I am a worrier by nature, so I am still going to worry.

UPDATE: I am not pregnant. I am mostly relieved and just a smidge disappointed.

There is almost no chance you got pregnant from missing two pills because it stays in your system and it is not like you have an egg just sitting there ready to be released if you skip a pill. Yes it can trigger release of an egg but not the first day, that is why the instructions tell you to take two a day for a week, to keep a potential egg from implanting.

So far as nauseous goes your body does not react to a pregnancy until the egg is implanted so it is all in your head. If you cannot test for a pregnancy you cannot have symptoms of a pregnancy because your body doesn't know it is pregnant yet.

Nothing will make the time pass fast. I've been there. Don't read into the nausea too much. If your HCG levels are high enough to cause nausea, they are high enough to show up on a pregnancy test. I had more pregnancy symptoms the months i was not pregnant than the months I was. And I've been pregnant 5 times! However there was one symptom I always had before HCG's were high enough to be detectable and that was frequent urination.

I totally went through this recently. I felt pregnant long before a test would confirm. There was nothing to make the time go faster, obviously, but I did make it, and the very minute it was time to test, I did, and it was positive. Now I'm 7 1/2 weeks pregnant and wondering how I'm going to get through the next 32 weeks!!! Just enjoy this sweet & crazy time! Let us know as soon as you know!!

you could always go to the dr and have a blood pregnancy test done. They are more sensitive and show up quicker than the urine tests do.

Spend the next 10 days focusing on an amazingly healthy diet, exercise, prenatal vitamins and living your life because nothing will change the length if an day, hour or minute.

I agree with Jo. If you missed two you're fine. Also I agree that its in your hear until it implants. My morning sickness started both times (1 misscarriage) at 5-6 weeks ish. All of the symptoms before that are the same as before you get your period (tender breasts, tiredness...) So theres no real pregnancy symptoms that eatrly. yes some people will say "I Knew" but I bet theres more that will say "I knew" that really werent

I think that is the best part......the "what ifs" and that anxiety/excitement! You only get to experience these feelings a few times in your life. Enjoy! Even it's not positive, it's fun while it lasts. My husband got "fixed" in December, I'm gonna miss not having those weeks!

Why not buy a good pregnancy test and do it tonight then get another test by your dr in 9 days to be sure?

I would take this opportunity to do something positive.
Start Yoga and mediatation. It will be great in calming your mind and body whether pregnant or not.
Maybe read something you've always wanted to read to keep your mind busy.
Do mindless yard work. It's a great time to be outside, planting, weeding, painting. Spruce up around the house.
