Ok... I heard you all, some had the problem some did not, here's all I know, I can actually see the outline of the cartoon on the boys legs! Also, he has no other reaction like pain or rash or anything like that. Believe me, I love HUGGIES, I tried all the big and generic brands. I suppose the only thing to do is switch brands for a while, anyone try KIRKLAND? How are they? Thanks for all the replies!!!!!

I work in a day care and all the children that wear huggies diapers and pampers have the ink on there legs. I have not seen it with Loves diapers or store brand. When my two children were in diapers I used Kmart Target and Walmart diapers. My brother is using CVS brand diapers on his 6 month old and they dont leak or run

No Kidding! I've had that experience with Pampers Cruisers... the babies end up red before getting any ink off. They totally look like bruises AND THEY ARE NOT! I know for a fact that the diapers caused this especially after having changed the type of diaper. I've also experienced lint-type residue on my girls' bottom and fronts when changing them. It almost seems like the diapers are shredding while on.

Wow. I have never heard of such a thing. I am sorry that has happened to your baby's legs! Okay, my advice is to immediately switch to cloth diapers. I used disposable diapers until I found out how easy and cozy cloth diapers are, so my recommendation would be to invest in some nice, soft cloth diapers. You can get a hose that attatches to the tank on your toilet and very easily spray the poop (i mean every single bit comes off and goes into the toilet, as the spray is strong)directly from the dirty diaper into the toilet bowl. I use Happy Heiny's because they are exactly like disposables -easy to use (velcro on)-- if you are interested at all, message me and I will give you a list of what you will need to be up and running with cloth. I cannot tell you how easy and how much nicer they are - and chemical free!

Are you sure it is the diapers doing this? Have you taken him to a doctor? I swear by Huggies and always will. My son has worn them for 2 years with no problems and I work at a daycare in the infant room and Huggies are used a lot and I have never seen this. Maybe he has an allergy to something.

Hi,
Are you sure what you are seeing are not birthmarks showing up? My oldest son got a port wine birthmark on the top of his inner thigh when he was about 9 months old. the little girl I take care of is 6 months old and just got a birthmark port wine on her hip this month but has has one on her calf that looks like a bruise rather than the darker port wine for about a month. By the way Kirkland diapers are the best.I use them on a 6 month old and a 2 year old.

We have used Huggies on our daughter since birth (now 17 months) and I've never seen this on her. Are you sure it's the diapers??

I use Huggies all the time, I have never had this issue. But I have had people say that his diapers look too big for him. Maybe you need to move up a size. The poundage is not always a perfect guidline on these products. However if you are experiencing blowouts (where the excretions come out of the diaper) it could also be a sign that they are too big or too small.

Or have you considered, perhaps his urine is causing these stains? I'm not a doctor, but I would think an allergic reaction could be the cause.

Hope this helps.

Hi M. C.
The staining thing is wierd to say the least but, I have tried Kirkland brand and they where good. I love huggies and now that I'm on #4 I wont switch. But, there was a time when we couldn't always afford Huggies and had to use the Kirkland ones...hubby still thinks we should be using them. But, I want what I want so, u know how that can be. Well, good luck and I would bet that Arbonne Baby would take that stain out. Its amazing....look into it.

are you sure it is not a birthmark...Mongolian Spots maybe? Mongolian spots can be greenish, somethimes blueish in color. If it is for sure from the ink try 7th generation diapers or tushies (we use both and love them).

You should try cloth diapers. They really are easy. And they make some that are called "All in ones" that you can just put on like a regular diaper.
It can be really fun, and addictive, as there are lots of cute prints and patterns you can buy.
And best of all, it will save you money in the long run!

Same with us. He didnt get stains on his legs but the changing pad sure did. and i couldnt hardly get that stuff off of there. it was from the blue "eeor" (or how ever you spell that donkey's name from winnie the pooh).
we're on #4 too...and now we have the mickey mouse ones that dont have as much dye on them.
But im planning to potty train my 16month old soon. (i was potty trained at a year and my friend was potty trained at 10 months and her son at a year too. so i know its possible. maybe its just a romanian thing???)

We've used huggies from the beginning. I have tried using other brands but they leaked and didnt hold very well with my son. so until he's potty trained, we're just going to use the huggies.

hope you can figure out what works best for you.

I agree, never had any problems with any of my 3 kids that are under the age of 3! I thought maybe an allergy??? Try switching brands to see if it helps, if not you may want to take your son to the doctor if it seems serious!

HI M.-

Yep, the Huggies I buy are staining my son's inner thighs a green-blue. It happens mostly when he's dehydrated and I forget to check his diaper. The urine is reacting with the dyes on the diaper and they bleed into the skin. My advice is to increase water intake and check the diaper more often. Kirkland brand is great and I often go back and forth between Kirkland and Huggies. I hope that helps.

Have you tried the organic diaper's? I don't know how well they work. My little cousin swears by Pampers, especially for boys. Do they still make diapers that don't have pictures and designs on them? I am sorry that I don't have better advice.

I use Huggies Supremes, and they are all mainly white. Do the other Huggies come in bright colors? Let us know what you finally find out, be it stain, allergy, actual bruising from something, sure is interesting.

Hi M. and Everyone,

I used Pampers on my first daughter. The second one (18 month old) uses Huggies. No ink marks. I change them pretty frequently. Maybe that's why I don't see ink marks. I've tried Kirkland. It's softer, but sometimes leaks right through the entire diaper, not just the sides.

I went back to Huggies.

Best wishes with your diaper search.

Both of my kids have worn huggies and I've never seen this on either. I'd email Huggies and ask them!

However, just to see if it is the diaper or not, switch brands for a bit and see what happens.

One thing that just came to mind, does he regularly sit in a seat/jumper, carrier, etc... that could be causing this?

I am pretty sure that it is an allergy. My baby boy has excema and seems to be allergic to everything. I always used Huggies Supremes with my oldest and planned to do the same with the baby. He also got marks on his legs from them...I switched to the generic Wal-Mart brand, I believe it's Parent's Choice. They are all white and left no mark. I also use the store brand at our BX because my husband is in the Air Force and we have access. I am not sure if that is an option for you. You may also want to think about switching to wipes that are scent free too. Sounds like your baby may have sensitive skin.
