I cant go to do the laundry out and dont have washing machine . I hand wash but I need to clean the baby toys. any ideas, most of them are soft staffed animals.
Plastic toys in the sink with soap and water.
Soft toys, I wash them in the washer but I would wash them by hand if I don't have enough to wash them.
If they have electric parts, I just wash the stains with a tooth brush and a wet towel and let them dry in the sun.
Big toys I have wash them out side with a hose.
Shower toys, right in the shower, and every once in a while with vinager.
Wood toys with the special wood cleaner and a rag
Top rack in the dishwasher??
I wouldn't use any soap. Hand wash them and then run them with just water to help sanitize them in the hot water.
You should use Dawn dishwashing detergent; it's the one all the animal rescuers use when cleaning fuel oil off wild birds & small animals (such as in the recent BP oil spill). Dawn is the best degreaser of all the dish detergents on the market. If you ask a veterinarian how to clean dirt or car grease off your pet dog or cat, he or she will invariably tell you: Dawn. You can add regular Clorox to the suds at one part bleach to ten parts water. Let the toys soak for at least 10 minutes in the diluted bleach, which is the best and cheapest disinfectant to use for anything and everything. After rinsing, squeeze out as much water as you can, then let the toys air dry (may take a few days indoors; only a day or two in the hot sun).
