How Many Times a Day Do You Vacuum?

Oh my. This question scared me. Not only do I not vacuum daily, I'm lucky if I vacuum weekly. I don't have much carpet, so maybe that makes it easier.

LOL glad you were kidding. Maybe once a week, if that. More like 2-3 times a month. We should do it more often but...we don't.

I have a dog so I don't need to vacuum much in the kitchen/dining area :-)
The rest of the house? Once a week, more if a mess is made.

Heck no! I consider myself pretty clean, but I can walk by a little dust no and again. Once a week........ maybe!

I am impressed when I walk into someone's house and it's not filthy, but is not pristinely clean. I think she is cool enough not to care what other people think and when a little cluttered then I think, "Now this person has it together. Why spend all your precious time cleaning? More important to play with your kids or enjoy a good book!"

Anyway, we have wood floors downstairs and carpet upstairs. I sweep around the kitchen table 2-3 times a week as needed (actually, I usually make my 5 year old do it since most of the crumbs are his). Beyond that, the floors get swept and cleaned and the carpet gets vacuumed once every two weeks.

I do occasionally sweep other parts of the downstairs more often or use the dustbuster to pick up sand from the kids shoes, but it's just as-needed. Sometimes it's twice a day, sometimes it's once a week.

We vacuum once a week but now that my Daisy is gone (lab) I find myself having to sweep up the kitchen after every meal (or snack for my 4 y/o). She used to keep that floor spotless!

Ah hell no. Once a week is all I can manage. I have a dog and cat so probably could do it more, but who has time for that when you work full-time?

Hahaha! How many times a month is more like it! Anyway, I have a couple of area rugs I try to vacuum every week. I have hardwoods and linoleum in the rest of the house and prefer to use a broom, it is much less hassle than using a vacuum!

I vacuum at least once a day because I like the way the carpet looks after it's vacuumed, and I have two young children. I allow them to have their snacks outside the kitchen (and their breakfast, and sometimes their lunch...they like to have "picnics" and I'm all for it!), so sometimes it's necessary to vacuum more than once a day.

Also, I guess I shouldn't say carpet...I have no carpet. My entire house (yup, whole thing, I hate it) is linoleum, so I've a LOT of area rugs. Large ones. I hate the linoleum.

Then I use the Swiffer for touch ups in certain rooms with hard floors.
There is no need to vacuum everyday.

I HAVE to vacuum every day. (And yes, I would totally have enough to vacuum more then once!) We have two dogs that shed all year, and blow their coats at other times. If I didn't vacuum daily, we'd be dog hair central.

We have a dog - a breed that apparently DOESN'T shed, but he does. And enough so that I probably should vacuum every day, but it doesn't happen. We have hard/laminate floors (except 2 bedrooms), so I swiffer vac as often as I can, but it still seems to not be enough!

I am feeling lately like I can't get a grasp on the dog hair lately. It is EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!! Don't believe what you hear about "non-shedding" breeds... :-P

No. I vacuum once a week, more if the kids have been on a particularly messy rampage or one of the dogs is in a power-shedding phase. My housekeeper vacuums once per week as well.

I never vacuum -- I have hardwood floors and love them dearly. Swiffer away! You're done! Need more cleaning done? Wet Swiffer time. I don't even have area rugs on the hardwood. Yes, I confess, I love hardwood.

We do have carpet but only in the basement and that gets vacuumed whenever it needs it -- not often enough.

I think sometimes folks with dogs have a good deal since the pup can eat stuff that the kids drop.....

Seriously, I usually vacuum everyday. My kids are home today due to icy weather here, and my oldest son (15) vacuumed for me this morning and I didn't even ask him to! When he finished, I asked him if he was feeling ok!

We unleash the robot minions and they clean clean clean. The Neato vacuums and the Scooba mops.

On the weekend, and midweek if needed. We take our shoes off when we come in the door so it helps a LOT re. not tracking extra dirt around the house. (1 kid, no pets)

I vacuum everyday. But I have 4 children running around and two dogs. It gets old. I feel like I'm tired of cleaning today too.

I am ready to give up on our floors. Our kitchen floor has 35 yr old linoleum, so it really looks terrible. I feel like I am sweeping or vacuuming all day, every day.

My husband won't enforce the "no food in the family room" rule that I tried to set down, so I always end up vacuuming in there too more often than I'd like to. Some day, when we finally get enough saved for our new home, we'll have a house with all hardwood on the main floor. I don't mind cleaning our hardwood rooms at all because it looks so pretty when it's done ;-)

I have two dogs...I do vacuum all common areas daily. I probably should do it morning and afternoon..but I don't :-)

I sweep the kitchen everyday, I hardly ever mop it tho i should lol, vaccuming I do once a week maybe twice if it's dirty, but I usually keep a pretty clean house so it really shouldn't need to be done more than that

I have a Roomba. It vacuums everyday for me. Sometimes twice. I love it.

We have hard floors, and I do not sweep or mop. My husband does floors. Now that my 2yo has his own broom and loves to sweep, I let him have that fun. He's at it at least once a day.

I don't vacuum because we don't have any carpet, but I do mop and sweep every single day. Sometimes 3 times a day. Yes I'm sick of it but I hate to see a dirty floor.

I am definitely not OCD about rugs. We do have a lot of tile...

I find it relaxing, and it's my baby's favorite activity to watch. So sometimes daily, yes. We have a quiet vacuum.

OMG I wish I could vacuum more but I just cant find the time. I love Love LOVE to vacuum and I love the outcome of a clean house even more but I usually only get a good vacuum in (meaning I get to do it all - more stuff outta the way, baseboards, hidden areas, etc once a week if Im lucky. Otherwise its a quick run of the vacuum with the hose to quickly clean the mess under the table after a meal and even then Im lucky if I get to use the vacuum instead of a wet paper towel or a rag
My 'dirty 30' is this yr and I actaully asked for a true dirty 30 by gifting me with a new vacuum (fingers crossed a Dyson) and helpful cleaning products and supplies

We have fake wood & ceramic tile everywhere.. The living room/dinning room/ kitchen is swept 3-4 times a day on the wekends.

Once or twice a week. If I had a lighter vacuum I might do it more.

We had wood floors in our old house and tile in the new one, so vacuuming is for the furniture and air vents, which get cleaned weekly.

Having said that, I sweep the floors at least once a day and most days it's at least twice a day. Two kids and two cats mean a lot of dust/hair/dirt/food, etc. Mop and "clean" the floors weekly!

I have a dog and cat so I do vacuum twice a day. But I have an all tile house except for an area rug in the living room and carpet in the bedrooms. It doesn't take but 5 or 6 minutes and it keeps me from having a sneezing fit by the end of the day.

I vacuum the livingroom everyday. With the baby learning to crawl and a shedding German Shepard. I vacuum rest of house 2x a wk.

Vacuum once a day (my husband does it) and then we sweep many times a day. With an almost 5 yr old tornado and a 1 yr old, plus 3 13 yr olds, it gets pretty messy.

Yes, I vacuum everyday. I do the kitchen and living room, and then I do the upstairs bath and bedrooms twice a week, sometimes three. Family room and laundry every Monday.

I vacuum when there's visible fluff on the ground. Probably once every three or four days. If I can't see it, it's not bothering me! <3

I miss my hardwood floors at my old house. I have mostly carpet(except in kitchen and bathroom. I am pretty OCD when it comes to vacumning my carpet. Especially since my son and husband both love to snack and leave crumbs everywhere. I vacumn probably about 2-3 times a day in the family room, once a day in the other rooms of the house.

I can think of better ways to spend my time. I vacuum once/twice week. Got hard wood floors and a dog, so I vacuum as needed otherwise, it's a dusty mess around here. I don't mind vacuuming though.

I try to vacuum every day. We have fur babies and my husband is allergic so it cuts down on the allergens and we can keep them. I don't vacuum everything, "just the middles" Flylady style! Once a week I pick a room and move everything when I vacuum.

My grandma used to vacuum after every meal! I thought that was quite crazy but then you could eat off her floors...

I TRY to vacuum the are where our dogs are allowed once a day. There must be something about February because it ain't happening this month! It's been about once a week for the whole house this month. Trying to get back into the swing of it. With slight allergies and a stinky old dog (18) it really needs atleast 3 times a week in the area he's in!

The downstairs (where the dogs are allowed) gets it about 3 times per week, unless it's shedding type for the malamute and then it's daily! LOL! Upstairs only gets done about once per month - no dogs, no food upstairs so it's not too bad.

i have 5 parrots,1 cat and 2 dogs-often a stray rescue dog..how often do you think i vaccum?..i developed carpel tunnel from vaccuming..lol..plus i work 50 hrs a week-all critters get their food cooked-from scratch..hmmmm..im still single why?..kids are glad their grown-to much for them..lol...

Once or twice a day is conservative, so basically, "as needed." I have wood floors everywhere so crumbs, dirt, sand, and whatever other goodies that are tracked in are easily seen and felt on bare feet. Even my kitchen has wood floors so when I'm done cooking I have to vacuum whatever falls.
