My 1.5 yr old is a mart boy there seems to be no tricking him. I can get him to drink water and juice out of his sippy cup but he just won't drink his milk that way. I don't know how to transition the milk from the bottle because he jstu refuses to drink it any other way. Any suggestions. Also he never really used hsi pacifier to begin with and since he started with a sitter 6 months ago he is addicted any ideas we keep it hidden from him during the day and give it to him at night when he sleeps sometimes but if he sees the pacifer he freaks out and starts crying for it how do i break him out of that as well?

I think its a little early to take away his bottle,
especially since he still seems to need the comfort, and as you say his routine has changed and he is with a sitter now, plus he is flexible in drinking juice from a sippy cup.

I wouldn't rush it, let him give it up in his own time,

If you really want to get rid of everything then make the decission to thow everything out and don't turn back. Yes you'll have a rough time for the first couple days but once he knows there aren't any bottles or pacifiers he'll get over it.

Speaking from experience I waited until my kids were 2 yrs old and understood the concept of all gone. Once the knew all gone I threw out everything and when they wanted a pacifier I said 'Oh I wonder where it could be? Let's look for it.' We looked everywhere and when we didn't find it I said it was probably all gone. We looked many times for the first couple days but after that it wasn't a problem.

Just remember once you make the decission there's no going back.

Hi A....I have - I have three words for you about the bottle - "take it away". Seriously, take all the bottles out of cabinets, drawers, etc and get rid of them or pack them away if you're planning on having another somewhere where your son can't see them. When both my boys turned 1, the bottles went away. They both fussed a little, but after checking with my pediat. he said that they'll drink when they're thirsty and to stick to my method of cold turkey. You may have a couple of rough days, but you know he's able to drink from a sippy cup so he's not going to hold out too long. Don't offer anything except milk until he accepts it, then reintroduce the others. I can't help with the pacifier, never used one. Good luck - try to stay strong I know it's tough to see the little cuties upset, but before you know it you won't be washing bottles anymore!

The day my two kids turned one, their bottles went away. There was no other option. If they wanted to drink, it was out of the sippy cup. I had several options, some more "bottle" like than others, but they did it and now, at 2 and 3, they drink out of regular cups like champs.
