How Can I Get My Daughter to Eat More Vegetables?

I have a 13 month old daughter. When she was eating baby food she loved carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes and lots of other vegetables. Since she's started eating "table food" I can't get her to eat vegetables anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions or creative ways to get her to eat them?

What can I do next?

Stage 3 baby food and table food are pretty much the same thing. Have you tried mixing stage 3 vegetables in with mashed potatoes? I would try this for a few weeks then try the real thing mashed up. Try making her 1/2 sweet potato mixed with 1/2 white mashed potatoes. Just a suggestion! Good Luck!

Try vegatble soup, or tomato soup. I did that for my daughter and that is how she eats her vegatables now. She'll only eat them in soup, or broccoli or con ON the cob. Another thing I tried is carrots with a little butter and a pinch of brown sugar when they are cooked. I hope this helps

She is beginning the stage where they do that ëat only 1 kind of food each week" thing. You really have to look at what they eat over a period of time rather than a daily basis. It will sound strange, but slicing vegetables really thin and using dips, like peanut butter mixed with applesauce works really well. Carrots and even green beans taste good with this. A cream, cheese or yogurt sauce if she is not dairy sensitive works well also. I do this myself because I'm not a big vegetable fan, either. Soups or stews cam be helpful--a bit messy, but you can let her dip small pieces of toast into it. You can even puree them into a soup. Think I'll head for the kitchen now--hope this helps!

My daughter has been a vegetable lover her whole life- thank goodness. The only mistake I think I've made to that end was trying to give her "our" table food when it was time. She still prefers all her vegetables completely plain- not even salt- and either raw or steamed. In six years, if ever she won't eat a vegetable, it's almost always because it's over-seasoned for her taste. Good Luck!

Have you tried "hiding" them something like mashed potato's? My son was the same way at that age, so I began mixing peas or smashed up carrots into his mashed potato's. I also bought Rice mixes with the veggies already added and I would also add small pieces of other chopped veggies to that as well.
Now my two year old will not eat her vegetables. I noticed she likes Campbell's Beef ABC soup, so I fix that ar least 3 times a week. She will also( sounds REALLY gross!) dips her green beans and other veggies in catsup or ranch dressing! I know, how gross, but I have no problem as long as she is eating what she is suppose to eat!
Good luck

I have a dau who loved veg as a baby. Now she is 6 yrs old. She quit eating veg when she came off baby food. My Dr. suggested covering it with cheese, hiding it in things. NO she found it, felt the texture, refused. So, he said use vitamins to replace what she was not getting. My dau loves carrots now they have to be cook in special favor, but still will not touch a green thing. New Dr. said kids like people lose interest in things and gain it back in time. Their taste is different if you force it she may never try it. But always put it on her plate, Always make it look good when your eating it. She might think Hey mom likes it,or dad. Okay today I will try it. Don't make a big deal, but if she does and likes it. Praise her, if she spits it out, praise her for trying. Adventually she might surpise you, but do not be disappointed if it takes her a long time. I have a son now 4 as baby hated all baby veg. All he eats now is veg. even broccoli and spinach. Every child is different. Be patient it is okay,Good Luck!

My son and I like to drink the V-8 Fusion drink (not V-8 Splash!) It comes it a few flavors and has a full serving of fruit and vegitables in each glass! It doesn't really teach him to like his veggies, but when he just won't eat, it makes me feel better, and it's way better than koolaid!

When it is time for dinner, give her vegetables on the plate first. Nothing else. After she eats them, give her the rest of her meal.

I have 2 & 3 year old daughters. They love eating broccoli with cheese in it. They'll eat just about any vegetable with cheese on it. They will also eat vegetables with ranch dip. They wouldn't dare touch em without it. I also tell them that eating their vege's will keep them looking pretty as a princess. They know they make mama proud when they eat good. Their favorite is spinach salad with cheese. Does your daughter like cheese & ranch dressing? If so, maybe that will work for her. Good luck.
