Honda Odyssey Drivers

Up till recently, when my car was rearened and totaled, the cars I have personally owned over the past 20 years have been Honda's. I have always been happy with Honda Performace and great gas milage. Saving up right now to get a Honda Odyssey replacement for my totaled car. Happy right now I have a borrowed car to use for now, until I am able to get a new car, but I really want my Honda back!!!!!
I have had lots of experiance with driving other brand cars (Woked at a car rental agency for 3 Years) I never enjoyed driving those cars as much as my Hondas.

My Dad used to get Caravan's and 6 years ago I talked him in to buying a Honda Odyssey. He has driven it all over the country with it and It has well over 100,000 miles on it. He always says the seats are not as comfortable as other model vans, but he loves everything else about his Odyssey.

My Sister bought an Odyssey right after my Dad got his, and she has been happy with hers.

Dont know about that but we looked into a KIA Sadona and we are def gonna get one! The fully loaded one is almost 10k less than even the basics from everyone else but they have almost all the same perks with it plus the best warranty. KIA is going under new ownership too so they are about to have a "Grand Opening" and sell all their stuff for even less than it is now! :)

K., we're moving to Europe, and we have to sell our Odyssey. We have had it for 2,5 years, and we are really really sad to leave it here. (The car is not available overthere so they can not maintain it and order parts etc.)We put it on Craigslist yesterday evening and get a lot of response.
We loooooove the car, it is the best er is! We have 3 kids, (5,3 and almost 2y) and it has lots of room. What I love the best is the automatic sliding doors. So good to open the doors with your remote while running in the rain with 3 kids towards the van!
And what I also like a lot is the 3th row, it folds down 60/40. So we have one kid sitting on the 3th row, and the 60% folded flat. So no problem to throw in the double stroller and a lot of other stuff. And an other thing, the 3th row completely disapears in the floor if you fold it, so it is just one big flat loading space.

To answer the gas question, I pump when I see the red light, and it is around 18 gallon. I refound the dealers papers and it tells me: 19 city MPG (between 16 and 22) and 25 highway MPG (between 21 and 29). Comparing to American brand cars it's really not bad.

The Odyssey is one of the savest vans, side curtain airbags and stability control. I'm sure there are plenty of websites you can read about it. We did a lot of research and the Sienna and the Odyssey are the best according to a lot of tests. The Odyssey had a lot of safety things in the standard version, with the sienna you had to pay for it extra. So for the standard version the Odyssey was a bit cheaper.

I got my van in October after a LONG time of fighting getting a minivan! I didn't like the idea of a minivan- I want to be a "cool" mom. Well, I am a cool mom and I LOVE my minivan! I told my husband I would be their spokesperson!! lol!! I would definitely get another!

I've had the Odyssey since 2001 and I like it. They have come out with lots of features on the Sienna that you should check out, too. I bought the Honda 'casue at that point it was better in safety and had the skid control.

I've had my Honda Odyssey for about two years and I love it just as much now as the day I purchased it. With the gas prices higher, I average about $45 each time I fill up. (I'm bad about waiting until the gas light comes on, so that's for a full tank.) Good luck!

I LOVE my Odyssey as the other posters said. I looked at the Toyota Sienna, which I think is very nice as well. Mine is a 2003 (purchased in 2005). I HIGHLY suggest going used. I found a TON of late model Honda Odyssey's out there and you can save BIG TIME if you are willing to go used. Since there are so many, it allows for great control in the negotiation because you can literally walk next door and get the exact same car. For instance, in 2005, I bought a 2003 model with approx. 30,000 miles for $17,000. My model has all leather seating, fold flat 3rd row seats, built in DVD player, single disk CD, dual automatic sliding doors, cruise, air, etc. It's awesome! The main difference I found between the Sienna and Odyssey is that there are a lot more used Odyssey's out there than Sienna's. Also, the used Sienna "fully loaded" used runs a good 2-3 thousand more than the used Odyssey.

To fill the car up with gas, I spend about $45 and that lasts me for about two weeks of local driving.

I have a 2004 odyssey. I just filled up at Costco today and the cost was 38 dollars ($2.76/gallon). The light was on so it was fairly close to empty. I hardly every put more that 15 gallons in it at a time. I can usually go about 250-300 miles per tank depending on traffic. I love my van. We are about to have our third child in 4 years and can't imagine driving anything else!

I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey. With Gas prices at the current 2.80 per Gallon it cost me about 45 to 50 to fill up. The van runs smoothly and has lots of room. I have three small girls with lots of stuff. The feature in our van that I love the most is the built in DVD. We have looked at the newer versions and they are really nice. We were looking at the Toyota Sienna origionally. Many of the features are the same but Toyota was not willing to negotiate on the price. Good Luck.

I love Hondas and they keep the value. But my neighbor works on them and said a couple of years ago they were having trouble with the vans. I still wonder if they have worked them out now. I since drive a bigger car and love that too. I hit a dear years ago and thank God I was not in my Honda Accord. There was 8500 damage to the car. The parts are expensive but it also has lasted years. I need a new one too but will wait til I can pay cash. G. W

i have a 2000 Honda Odyssey i run great and we put about 50 dollars a week but we drive from arlington to dallas 4 times a week and pick up the children from school. we do tend to drive a lot so...the milage is great. hope this helps.

I love, love, love my Odyssey, but I'm selling it to get out from under a lease. It costs about $50/ week to fill up w/ gas right now- that'll get you about 320 miles/ tank. I did have a 2002 Kia Sedona. We got one the first year they came out with them. Loved it, but there we're lots of annoying little "bugs" that didn't get worked out that first model year. Plus, there is no Kia dealership near us, so every time one of those little bugs acted up, it was a 30 minute drive & a 2 day wait w/ no loaner car. So, proximity of a Kia dealership is a definite consideration, although, I've heard the last few years they've gotten much better... but their price has gone up, too! I'm big on "foreign" cars, will not drive domestic. At 4'10", I need a car better suited to "little people" & with better design features- Japan/ Korea seem to know how to fit us shrimps better!

My van is a gold 2006 Honda Odyssey w/ leather, moon/ sun roof, multidisc CD, & back up sensors, and just right at 23,000 miles. There is a little damage to the rear that is all being repaired in the next few weeks thanks to insurance (I got backed into in a parking lot & then "bumped" at a stop light- lucky, huh?). However, there is a little crack in the front bumper near the license plate I'm not going to repair (another parking lot crunch insurance won't fix). I'm going to be getting it detailed out after school is over week after next & it will be ready to sell after that. I'd like to get $24,500 for it, OBO. If you or anyone you know is interested, please let me know!
