My kid had hives at 8 from stress. There was not any other cause, and he was going through many changes and difficulties, and his favorite grandma's death. The pediatrician also run several tests, but she finally told us that was stress.
Okay so with no changes in her life my 10 year old daughter is getting hives. We have already ran down all the usual suspects so what I am looking for here are some Fringe ideas.
So did anyone's children have hives that turned out to be from some strange source?
She has an appointment with her doctor tomorrow to figure this out.
She hasn't been sick but I have those strange kids that don't run fevers with viruses or infections. We are hoping it is viral but I am not sure the pediatrician can say yes or no on that, just that it ended, ya know?

I had hives from stress at that age... to YOU her life may seem like no stress or no changes, may not be that way to her.
Has she developed allergies to something? I was given an allergy medication & it gave me head to toe hives...I had a fever & was MISERABLE for 3 days! Try to think about what she may've eaten or maybe taken orally you're not aware of. It can be food or meds, maybe vitamins. I realize you checked all the usual suspects as you stated but try to see if she may've eaten something or maybe brushed up against something too. Good luck!
Viral infection. Has she been sick lately?
Viral. Hives can come from a virus.
Allergies can come from all kinds of things that you normally have contact with. You can develop an allergy at any time throughout your life.
I usually notice hives around my waist or on my back when I am starting to get sensitive to a laundry product. I get them on the back of my neck, back, and on my head when it's a hair product although I can get a rash on my face if it's windy and my hair is blowing around a lot. Try giving her some benadryl, only 1/4 to 1/2 dose. You really don't need the full amount for anything unless it is a sudden strong allergy like a bee sting or a coughing issue that is from something like exposure to mold.
Not my kids, but I all of sudden started getting them for no reason, the only thing was that I moved from my house after a divorce to a apartment. I would walk by the neighbors who smoked pot all the time, to get to my door. When they finally landed me in the hospital I told them what was out of the norm, and when I changed my approach and times to get into my apartment, they ceased. Good to know I am allergic or sensitive to POT LOL
I too had hives from stress once when I was young. I now am what I call allergic to exercise -- yes I am serious -- I get the hives when ever I exercise, including simply going for a walk. It started either when I was in high school or college (I don't remember exectly when). It is odd just like the person who is allergic to the cold.
I'm allergic to cold. This started last winter at age 46, but I did have problems with them when I was about 12 - same thing. It's odd.
