My daughter is 8 months old and I am still on High Blood pressure medicine. I never had any problems before the pregancy. Some say it will go away, but some say it won't. Is there anything natural that I can do? Anyone else experienced this?

What can I do next?

Well, did you have high blood pressure during pregnancy?? I had it both times I was pregnant and had my 2 daughters both two months early because of it...my blood pressure did go down after I had both of them and then gradually returned...I am on medication and have tried to do more natural things like exercise and drinking more water, trying not to eat alot of sweets and I never have used that much salt, but mine is heredity more than anything! Do you think yours is heredity? Just try to be as active as possible and drink lots of water, not just liquids! Water will make your blood thinner and your veins not as rigid, making it easier for the blood to flow properly. Hope this helps!

There is a book about gallbladder flushes and liver flushes that I'm reading for myself..as I discovered gallstones during pregnancy. Anyway, the books contention is that our bodies are designed to work, and when they dont (high blood pressure, high chol)it's often because our overall system is clogged. Unclog the system, fix the issues. There are several stories of people who did these flushes and their chol/bp returned to normal within days. That said, personally, I wouldn't do one of these without a physician. Look up Integrative Medicine and see if there are any in your area. The one I go to is www.carolinacenter.com.
Other than this..I think a friend did garlic or something like that.

I am sure your Dr has suggested some sort of diet change, it's hard to do but you will have to totally change your diet. Fresh foods, no canned soups, hotdogs, and preprepared meals. Even the low cal stuff has a ton of sodium in it. Also make sure you start some sort of excercise. (walking or doing the stairs) For my break at work, I take the elevator down and climb the stairs back to my floor. Good luck !

Many times hypertension that develops during pregnancy doesn't go away. Make sure that you are exercising, eating right, watching your sodium intake, and getting enough rest. Increase your potassium intake if you can (a banana or two everyday will help) as sodium and potassium don't live in the same spot and it will help to push the sodium out. Drink lots of water.

See if there is a chiropractor or naturopathic physician in town. They are a great resource for alternative methods.

My blood pressure was high while I was pregant, but went away after baby was born, which has been almost 13 years.I think proper excercise and watch diet especially salt content.which easier said than done, but I do know people who watch their diet and excercise usually can go off meds.Hope this was helpful.Thanks,K.

Are you on birth control pills? My blood pressure stayed high after I had my daughter for almost a year. Turns out it was the pill I was taking that was causing it to stay high so I had to get a different pill.

Vemma is a natural supplement my husband and I use to keep all of our numbers in check. We drink 2 ounces a day and it tastes like OJ. The product itself is just food but when you feed your body the nutrients of 9 servings of fruits and vegetables, it begins to repair itself and function as it was intended. We love it. When you order Vemma, the company gives you your own web site to share your testimony. My site is www.myvemma.com/bodyfitness. You can order from here, just be sure to look under wholesale prices so you don't have to order more than you need. My contact info is on my site. Vemma is listed on this site as a Mom owned business. Very good reviews. Cissy is a friend of mine.
Blessings to you!

Does high BP run in your family? This may have triggered it. My daughter in law started taking meds when she was 24. It's in her family.
Have you gained weight and not lost it. They say that for every 20 lbs you loose, your BP drops.
