Hi S.. go online to Orientaltrading.com they have a bunch of ideas and party favors for all types of parties.
Need new fresh ideas for 7yr old boy birthday party. Although we have lived here for close to 2years now, still not in the know. We would love to have a backyard type of party. We have a pretty good size yard to have one. But not sure what direction to go in. Plus, we really don't know any parents of the kids from my child's school. So should I have it in a public place or at home. Also, my child really wants a backyard sleep over with tents and the whole banana. Not sure that I would let my child stay over unless I knew the family. He loves science, dino's, & other normal boy stuff!

We just celebrated my son's 7th as well. We wanted to do something simple and fun. We reserved the ampitheatre at Mckinney Falls State Park off of Mckinney Falls road between William Cannon and Burleson Rd anyway it was $15. We did a big campfire, and roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. The kids parents came and it was camping with out the sleep over. The kids hiked around played football and we told "ghost stories" 7 year old style. Everyone said it was the best party ever, but it was a lot of fun and I think the parents enjoyed it just as much.
S., my son just turned 7 and it was an extremely low key birthday. We were all kind of over the big parties. All we did was invite his 3 good friends from school over for cake in the afternoon, parents dropped them off for about an hour. Then on the weekend he chose one friend to go to the movies with and then another friend to go bowling. My son plays much better with one friend at a time, that is why we did it that way... I am not comfortable doing sleep overs yet. We moved here 2 years ago and immediately I joined the MOMS Club and I met tons of people very quickly. If you want more info on the group let me know.. They have chapters all throughout south Austin. good luck, J.
Look into renting a moon walk for the back yard. Put a few fun gizmos on the garden hose, let them run in the sprinkler and jump in the moon walk to their heart's delight. Their parents will love you for wearing the kids out! I did this for both my kids' 5th birthday, it was a lot of fun.
Hi
This pass weekend we had a b-day party for my eight year old we did water ballons(fun fun fun] for the boys.I sent invatations w/ my son to school and a turn out of 8 kids from school and 2 neighbor boys.Just make it a 3 hour party.Water ballons, hot dogs,{pinata} games cake and icecream and then its time to open the gifts.Time flew and didn't spend the money on a party at a restaurant and they just loved getting wet in this warm weather.Don't stress if to many people dont show just enjoy it w/your son.
We just had my son's 7th birthday party at Peter Pan mini golf and it was really great! Low-key, low-cost and all the parents stayed, so that might be what you are hoping for as well! Personally, I think 7 is too young for overnights, but I know my son's friends do it already, so it's really about knowing the kids and families, I agree. You could have a camping theme party that ends with roasting marshmallows but then everyone goes home!?! Good luck!
