D.,
It sounds like "Thanks Again" by Ricky Skaggs. I hope this is what you are looking for--sounds a lot like what you mentioned. If you need help getting it let me know--my dad produces wedding videos and has used this a LOT!
Strange question. My son and I danced to a beautiful song at a wedding last night. The lyrics were about thanking the parents for eveything from diapering the child as a baby to putting him through school, etc. The lyrics also included, "Thank you my best friends. Mommy and Dad." The dj did not know the song or artist, even though he just played it!!! My son and I are desperate to find out the title. We even contacted the dj company, googled what lyrics we remembered, etc. i hope someone can help us. My son wants it as "our song". Thank you so much!!!

Artist: Skaggs Ricky
Song: Thanks Again
Album: Country Gentleman
I've sent bouquets for Mother's Day,
For Father's Day, a shirt and card.
While they came from the heart,
They all fell short of saying how special you both are.
It wasn't ' til I was up and gone,
Married with a couple of kids of my own,
Doing what mamas and daddies do,
That I realized what I must have put you through.
So thanks again for the love in the cradle,
And all of the changes that kept me dry.
And thanks again for the love at our table,
And tannin' my bottom when I told you a lie.
For takin' me fishin' and flyin' my kites,
And tuckin' me in, yes, night after night:
To my beautiful life-long friends,
Hey, Mom and Daddy thanks again.
I'm still a young man, least I think I am,
But I'm watchin' my own hair turn gray.
And your call last Sunday brought to mind,
That I owe you a debt I can never repay.
So thanks again for worryin' and waitin',
When I started datin' on weekend nights.
And thanks again for the help with my homework,
And sittin' up with me till I got it right.
Your car for the prom, your letters in 'Nam,
But most of all, Daddy, for marryin' Mom:
To my beautiful life long friends,
Hey, Mom and Daddy thanks again.
To my beautiful life long friends,
Hey, Mom and Daddy thanks again.

Is it a girl or boy singing it?
If it said, thank you mother, father, daughter, etc., I found lyrics for something called Hell Yeah (group name?) Thank you (song name). Don't know if it's the right one.
There is a wedding site called teamwedding.com if you scroll down you will see every wedding song sorted into catagories father/daughter , Mother/son etc. It lets you hear a sample of the song or see the lyrics. If all else fails could you call brides parents, most likely the bride picked the song. good luck.
