you should make an appointment to see a dermatologist. it sounds like you have alopecia, which can be treated. there might be something else going on but the dermatologist can diagnose the problem and make a treatment plan for you. good luck!
I have this problem with my hair not growing in certain areas of my head. People tell me that it has to do with stress but it has been like this for a very long time. I have tried a lot of things but no help. I get very depressed because I see all these women styling thier hair very nicely and I can't do that. My self esteem has been going down because of it and I just don't know what else to do. If any of you know of anything that I can do or try, please let me know.

Have you had your thyroid checked recently? I know a lady who lost hair due to hypothyroidism (all over thinning hair though, not in patches). Her hair grew back in normally once she was on the right dose of thyroid meds.
I live by Nouritress viatimins! It really works and you do not have to wait months to see the results. I noticed a difference immediately. See their website below and please let us know how things turn out!
My 25 year old sister's hair was thinning until she stopped taking her birth control pills a couple months ago and now its growing back.
Are you doing anything that affects your hormones? Definitely talk to your doctor.
Good luck!
In 2004 I went through some post traumatic stress. My hair was falling out by the handfuls and I had really black circles under my eyes. Nothing I did or tried was making my hair grow back or would take away the dark circles. At the time I was managing an Integrative Health Care clinic where Eastern Medicine was practiced along with Western. The MD who owned the clinic gave me the advice of taking Biotin, a water soluble B vitamin. I bought it at Longs where the herbs and vitamins where located. I took it as directed on the back of the bottle. After about 4 weeks amazingly my hair started to grow back and the black circle started to disappear. I took if for about 6 months. After I had my baby I experienced the same thing with the hair loss and black circles. My doctor told me it was normal after pregnancy and to continue taking my pre-natals since I was breast feeding. I didn't see any new hair growth till I added the biotin to my daily vitamin. It works! I have a full head of hair again and the circles are gone! The best part besides the vitamin working is that it's really cheap and easy to find!
I know I'm the same way, my hair has been thinning for as long as I can remember (maybe high school). I've tried alot of home remedies among other things. I'm gonna try the biotin and Nouritress vitamins... Also, I had my thyroid checked and theres nothing wrong there... prenatal vitamins don't help either.
