My son got sick after drinking a glass of strawberry milk. It threw it up all over my white floral carpet. I quickly put Bissel stain removal agent on it. Next, I attempted to rug clean the area. It has not come out. Does anyone know of any magic stain removal products that just might get my rug clean?
Thank you all for your replies and advice. I got this stain out using Kids and Pets, a product that was recommended and I found it at Wal-Mart. It was able to get the stain out even after it sat on the carpet for 2 days (since I couldn't get to the store sooner).

It's actually called Magic Spot Remover! And it's just that...Magic. I believe it's a Resolve product. I use it for EVERYTHING stain and rug. Doesn't really work on pen ink stains though...lol. That's a different miracle potion of Off Skintastic and a LOT of blotting!! (I have two boys also, and my youngest just has a knack for making pens explode.)
Good Luck!

There is a carpet cleaner called Spot Shot. It comes in a blue can. Read the directions before using it. It takes all kinds of stains out.

Try Shout, the laundry stain treater, I had a large blood stain on my sons bedroom carpet and thought I was going to have to replace the carpet before I moved because I was renting and I soaked the stop with Shout and pretty much dissappeared. I am also a huge fan of OXY, you can use the liquid or the powder, if you use the powder you make a paste with it and put it on the stain and let it sit, if possible I wiould let it sit overnight if you are able to. Good luck

I would try Oxiclean. Believe it or not, I also use the clear Windex on alot of things. Works great, however I would always test a small spot first with any stain remover you are unfamiliar with. Good Luck!

Hi C., First I want to congratulate you on your 2 boys. I am also happy you are able to stay at home and enjoy them. I don't have a specific carpet cleaner although Amway makes some powerful products. Hydrogen peroxide will remove blood stains from clothes, try it on your carpet. Good luck, Grandma Mary

My family owns a cleaning company and my father swears by a product called Stain X. His guys use it before they clean carpets to get the tough stains out. I'm not sure if the big box stores would carry it. The only place I have seen it for sale by me locally is our little vacuum repair shop. I have bought it online in the past. Google "Stain X" and maybe you can find a local store by you that sells it.

Hi C.. I was just told about a cleaner that you can get in the floor care section at Target. It's called "kids and pets" and it supposedly even removes permanent marker. The bottle has a picture of a little girl and a dog.
Good luck!

My favorite stain remover is hydrogen peroxide and dish-washing soap (3:1 since it's the bubbles that do all the work). Let it soak in and hopefully it will pull the stain right out and it's a more organic alternative to harsher chemicals that may damage your rug. I once spilled an entire glass of red wine on my tan cloth sofa and it came right out!

I have found that a lot of food stains come out with dishwashing soap. Try using whatever you wash your dishes with. I use Palmolive and it gets lots of stuff out.

Resolve normally works. if you want to try something else I use Gonzo - it comes in a little white bottle with red lettering on it in the same aisle at the grocery store with your other laundry detergents and cleaning products. It's GREAT! I've seen it get red wine out of a light carpet and pasta sauce off a white couch. I swear by it! Plus, it's super cheap, around $2.50 a bottle.

Pick up a bottle of Grease Lightning, spray or pour it on, scrub it in, let it sit, then rinse it with some fresh water or use a rug cleaner to rinse it. One of the guys my husband works with recommended it to remove ink off my son's shorts and it worked beyond fantastic. I now use it everywhere except on wood, it has taken stains out of cloths that were there for 6+ years, the shirts I put on to do projects around the house. I even used it on formula stains. My girlfriend brought over her nephews tops to try and we went nuts with it once we realized what it can do. OH and if you have tile floors, it works like you can't imagine on the grout. Hope this works for you.
Hugs,
T.

I know this sounds weird but try milk - white milk -just a little bit at a time. There's something about stains that whatever element the stain is, the same element pulls it out. For example, our dog had rubbed her nose so much on our white chair one day that she left blood stains all over it. I read that since milk was a protein like blood it would just lift it right out. I was very surprised to see how easily it worked. So I'm assuming the same would be true for the strawberry milk. You'll still have to clean out the milk afterward, but I think the white milk would lift out the pink stain. Good luck!

Hi,
That's great that you have decided to stay home with you kids for now. If you feel like you don't know that many mom's with your kids ages you may want to try some moms groups like momsclub.com or google mops international, that way you are likely to meet moms with kids too. You will get to know other moms in your area and meet at parks and stuff, they have a calendar of events.

Try oxyclean on it. If that doesn't work, try renting a carpet cleaner. I spilled red wine on a very light beige carpet and my husband rented one of those carpet cleaners at the A&P...it worked!!!!!!! Good luck!

Try oxyclean. I swear - this stuff can get anything out! Mix some with HOT water and squirt it on. Dab the area with a cotton cloth and keep doing it until it comes out. A word of caution - if you have hardwood under the carpet - better put something VERY absorbent under the throw rug or the oxyclean WILL remove the finish! Not a "may happen" - will happen!
The other old standby is peroxide. I've never tried it - my grandmother swears by it, but she exaggerates alot! LOL
But - oxyclean is my very best friend. My husband constantly brings me things to clean for him (he can't quite figure out the directions for himself I guess!).

You might try Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Removal spray, which you can find at your local pet store. It is meant to clean up pet messes. My beagle has thrown up many times on my carpet and this product has worked very well.
I use Spot Shot. It comes in an aerosol can and I can usually get it at Stop and Shop in the cleaning products aisle. It has a bright orange top. I use it on grape juice stains. Good luck.

Ban-it is a bar soap that I use for all stains. Blood, berries, oil, etc have all come out. You need to rub it a short bit, let it sit and then shampoo the carpet.
Winning Colours, a Canadian product works great too. Not sure where you can buy it but it's enzyme-based and even got dark nail polish out of a light beige carpet.

Believe it or not, I found that baby wipes sometimes pulls stains out. Or, tide with warm/hot water and a brush to brush it out. The other thing I recently hear was that beer gets stains out! I haven't tried that one yet.

I have heard the following are good for stain removal: Resolve, Greased Lightining (found online or Target) and believe it or not WD-40 which removed melted crayon from my car upholstery, however after using it I would used Dawn dishwashing liquid to removed the greasy residue it leaves. I have also used the Magic Eraser sponge on various stains, it removed magic marker from my sofa-worth a try. Good Luck.
