Help! Need Preschool Recommendations in St. Pete Area

My son will be turning 3yrs old soon and I could really use some good recommendations of preschools in or close to the St. Pete area. He was in daycare until his brother was born and as much as I try to entertain him with activities, he still seems a bit bored. He is such an enthusiatic and sociable child, really think he misses the constant interaction with other children. Read through past posts, but most preschools discussed were in Tampa and other areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi K.,

What part of St. Pete do you live in? I have been an in home licensed child care providers since 1983 in Pinellas County. I do mostly 3 and 4 year olds in my home and we do a curriculum. I am near Park Blvd. and Starkey Rd.. But if you would like to look up some of the centers near your home and see their inspections you can do that at www.pclb.org
After going to the site go to the section on the right that says "inspection reports for centers and homes". Put in Pinellas and your zip code... check centers or homes too... You can also go down to the Pinellas County License Board and ask to see the centers files in person...
Hope that helps!

K.,

Our 3 yr old goes to Cathedral Childcare it's in the 2800 block of 62nd Ave N. part of Suncoast Cathedral Church. We love all of the teachers and staff and more importantly so does our daughter. She has been going there since she turned one. They have a great program and the focus is really on the children and thier growth. Best of luck in your search!

Hi K.,

We're very happy with two preschools in St. Petersburg. Both of them are on 4th St. N.

Liberty Christian School ph: ###-###-####. This has the Abeka program and takes children from the age of 2 yrs up to the 5th grade. (preschool & private school) The tuition is very reasonable.

A Ginny's LIttle Giants ph: ###-###-####. Is a daycare/preschool. Taking infants from 6 wk to 5yr old. I have my youngest at this one , but plan to move her to Liberty once she turns two to be with her sister.

Good luck in your search.

My 3 year old goes to First Step Childrens Center in st.pete. He's been there since January 06 and we all love it. The teachers are great, they potty trained him, both of my nephews go there and my step-son goes to their Seminole location. My youngerst son will be attending there with my oldest when he turns 2. (thats the earliest they accept kids). Be sure to ask for Ms.Beth She runs the daycares. And they do accept CCC if your on it.

St.pete Location ###-###-####
6340 Central Avenue, Saint Petersburg, FL 33707

Seminole Location ###-###-####
10700 47th Avenue North, Saint Petersburg, Fl 33708
