I was looking online and I found a couple of different things. One said try raw egg whites. another said peanut butter. another one said baby oil or olive oil to get it to slide out and then shampoo well. Hope this helps!!
I came out from taking a shower and my two yr old had been painted all over the top of her head with nail polish (and it was dry, thank you fast-drying kid-polish!). It may be the peel-y kind, but it's really worked in. Nail polish remover is not doing much and we have to leave the house in half an hour. I hope I can get her to leave a hat on while we're out! I've tried brushing or combing it and that just seems to pull at her hair. What can I try this evening to work it out with minimal pain on her part? It's all the way to her scalp, so trimming the hair is out of the question (besides the fact that she would end up looking like Dr. Phil!). You know, some things you see coming... others take you totally by surprise! Thanks for your help!

Thanks to everyone who has sent ideas. It's still in. I haven't had time to wrestle her about it. I plan to trap her down on Saturday when DH is here to help. I'll let you all know what happens. Hopefully, we can make a dent in it before church! :o)

nail polish stuck in your hair

This one is rather straight forward. First isolate the hairs with polish on them from the non affected hair. Soak a cotton swab in nail polish remover and gently stroke the affected hairs until the polish is gone. Once the polish is removed, keep the hairs isolated until the polish remover has been neutralized with water.
After you shampoo the hair, be sure to use a cream rinse or a good conditioner to close down the hair cuticle from the damage caused from the polish and the remover.
It is possible that the polish remover will slightly discolor the hair and if the area is large and visible, may require a professional color job to mask the damage.
Try Carbona -- There small yellow bottles (variety of bottles to remove a variety of stains, messes, etc.) Usually you can purchase them most grocery stores probably in the laundry detergent aisle.
Good Luck...
You've probably already solved the problem by now but just in case I'll add my idea.
My experience (and it's not the same but I have 3 girls so you can imagine the nail polish episodes we've had) is that the "little girl" stuff will soak off, even hair though it may take longer. I'd put her in the tub get her hair really wet and wrap a warm WET towel around her head, just like you would to keep your hair up after a shower. I'll bet that if you do that, let it sit for 20 minutes and then wash her hair with a clarifying shampoo, not baby shampoo I don't THINK it will work, it may come out or at least mostly come out. At the very least it should soften it and make it "peel-able".
I hope this helps. It's what I've done with mine when they polished arms or legs. Just my two cents... I'd steer clear of putting anymore polish remover on her hair. 1. It will dry and break it. 2. it could very likely cause irritation and possibly burn her skin with the chemicals.
Good Luck!

try using babay oil and leave it soak it for a while sometimes it will wash right out .
Hello L.. Wow. My friend had this problem, but it was on their white dog "Snowy". She used Orange Glo Wood Cleaner to loosen it and ice cubes for the spots she could freeze and scrape. She let the OG on for about 45 min. the washed her dogs hair out everyday for 3 days with and chelating shampoo she found at Wal-mart, till it was all gone(it was a whole bottle of "Fire Red"). I hope this might help - good luck!!
