P.K.
Hoover Clean Plus is great for that. Get at Home Depot. Sold by the vacuums and carpet cleaners. I have a dog who peed on the run a couple of time. No smell now!
Does anyone know how to get the puppy pee smell out of my carpet? My puppy had an accident on my carpet and I carpet cleaned my carpet, still smells of pee and I sprayed vinager, still smells of pee! Help me please!!!
Thank you to everyone! I bought some natures miracle and sprayed the area and it smells good now, but then the little turkey, who was out side for like 30 minutes with our other dog, ran behind me and peed again!!!! I'm at a loss.

I use a product called Nature's Miracle. You can buy it at upscale pet stores (maybe even PetSmart or Pet City). It has specific enzymes that break down the ammonia in dog urine and take the smell out of carpets. I also use it for when my cat ralphs on the carpet. (And if you have cats who pee sometimes on carpet, they have a specific cleaner for that as well).
My dog had a UTI infection and was using the rug downstairs when she couldn't get outside (I think she felt bad that she had to go outside so often. I caught her, though, and got her to the vet, who diagnosed the UTI and gave me medicine. I've since changed her diet, and she's never had another UTI). I used Nature's Miracle on the rug--even though the urine had been dry for awhile--and it not only took out the pee stain (but it did lighten the rug in those spots; thank goodness, it's an old rug and I don't really care) but also the smell.
I'd give that a try and see what you think.
Nature's Miracle all the way. At our peak, we had 2 mastiffs and 2 pit bulls, trust me, we know what works :)
I actually had good results with Arm N Hammer Pet Fresh carpet odor eliminator with Oxi Clean.
You sprinkle it onto the carpet & let sit for 15 minutes, then vacuum up.
Now... the "fresh scent" it has is quite strong... And I have a large area rug... and I sprinkled about 2/3 of a box on the rug, because it was the first deep cleaning I had done in about 6 months... & then let it sit in for 30 minutes...
I almost fumigated myself out of my own house!!
But! No more peepee odor... =-) (...and the deodorizing odor was much lessened by the next day)
Hope that works! T.
P.S. if your puppy is not trustworthy on not having accidents, try getting them on a schedule after waking, eating & drinking... and then you should enforce a "puppy in sight" rule, so you can always avert an accident. If you need any advice on housebreaking, feel free to message me.
Go to the pet store and get a bottle of Nature's Miracle. It works very well.
Folex. Soak up with paper towels first. Then saturate with the Folex and let it sit for 10 mins or more. Then I use a knock off sham wow cloth to soak up the spray. I lay it on the spot and put a heavy object on top. It also works awesome for other stains on the carpet. I get it at Lowes.
I use "urine gone" from target.
I use Nature's Miracle products, including their Advanced formula. I use paper towel to soak up as much urine as possible, then spray it on the spot pretty heavy, then wipe up a few minutes later.
Use Simple Solution or Nature's Miracle. You can find them in any pet store.
try the cheaper way first and it worked for me...................CLUB soda pour over spot and let soak in for a while. For next accident soak up with rag, then pour salt over spot to soak up remaining pee, let sit until completely dry THEN club soda.....................good luck
We don't have pets, but the store where we bought our carpet had some heavy duty cleaner that was specifically designed to get pet urine out of carpet. It was supposedly a really good product. If other suggestions don't work, you might consider calling a local carpet store to see if they have a product that might work for you.
Spray with hydrogen peroxide, but beware, it can bleach so only use it on light colored carpet.
Two words: Nature's Miracle.
I have dogs ! It took them a long time to get them fully trained. They are like little babies in many ways !
I would take each dog out as soon as they got up in the am, after meals, before bed, etc...
When my doggies were pups, I would bring a small pc of organic carrot outside. -----As SOON as the puppy went, she would get a tiny pc of raw carrot to associate going outside w/ a treat. Oh, and the dog was always on a leash due to coyotes and hawks, etc...
I have small area rugs...So, I would throw them in the wash.
Good luck w/ your puppy !
