Hi J.,
Didn't we do this already?!?Oh well,My vote is still for Spencer Jake.Don't forget to send me a flower-love them!Best wishes to you.
I vote for Spencer. It was my grandfather's name and he was very good looking. Chase is becoming too popular. Good luck on which ever name you choose. :)
I've always liked Spencer...a guy in my high school had that name, and I always thought he was good-looking. :)
Congrats and I hope you have a good delivery!
I like Chase. :)
Spencer is an older name, with its popularity dating back earlier than the 1900's. In 2007, it was the 174th most used boy's name in the US (according to US Social Security data). The only person I've ever heard of with the name Spencer is Spencer Tracy (the actor, 1900-1967).
Chase is a newer name...more of a product of the 1960s. In 2007 it was the 79th most used boy's name in the US. I can't think of a single person named Chase. But I suppose your son would be more likely to have another Chase in his class than Spencer (since the popularity ranking was higher). There could *potentially* be a greater teasing-factor with this name, since it's a commonly used verb. (You know how mean kids can be!)
I don't have a personal opinion for you -- go with your gut!! And Good luck!!!
Spencer makes me think of a really old gentleman, like an old scientist... Chase is nicer, more modern. I vote for Chase.
What happened to the name "Lynken"???? ( I remember your previous post - glad you are doing well!) What about Jackson Spencer? Good, strong, cool name! (no fancy spelling for Jackson.) Love that name "Jack" for a boy!
Good luck, and your child will fit whichever name you choose. I'm a traditionalist and middle school teacher, so I don't personally like odd spellings. It is especially tough on a boy. Too cutesie for a name you will spend your life and adulthood with. Spencer Jake is my choice. Chase Jackson lends itself to "Hey, let's Chase Jackson..."
I like the way Spencer sounds better, but just an FYI: Spencer comes from the french word meaning to dispense, a giver of provisions. Chase is an English word that means to hunt. So Chase is the "Huntsman". Thats pretty masculine and cool too.
I loved Spencer, but there is a reality show star named Spencer and I think that it will turn into one of those really popular names like Emma from Friends. Just my two cents, I'd go with Chase.
Have a safe delivery.
A.
Just for fun, when I hear Spencer = Brainiac/smart kid, when I hear Chase = hot guy/athlete. :) I like Chase. Good luck with the new baby. He'll be adorable no matter which name you choose.
I love the name Chase, If I could convice my hubby on that name i'd use it myself. Good luck, hope you have a great delivery.
I love the name Chase Jaxson! I love how you are thinking of changing the spelling of Jackson to that! Also one nice thing is if there is more than one Chase in his class he can use the initial CJ for his nickname!
The first thing I thought of when I seen the name Spencer was the store in the mall! lol I do like it also but definately IMO Chase!
Please let us know what name you decide on! Blessings to you and yours and the new little one coming!
I think Chase is a bit trendy. My vote is for Spencer Jake. I think Spence is a great nickname. Good luck and let us know what you decide!
I like Chase better. Good luck!!
We got so tired from trying to pick our first sons name that we just wait until we see the baby. It may not help the stress but it is fun looking at the baby and throwing names at them. You could try that if you aren't ready to settle on one now. Just an idea...congratulations too.
Also we usually have a list or few that we like and then usually by day two (in the hospital) we have named them (we have two boys).
Just for fun too, I agree w/ Peg. My friend has a 3-yr old Chase and he is so darn cute... total heartbreaker!
I like Chase Jaxson. It's different and you don't hear Chase too often. Good luck!
I love the name Chase, I have a little cousin named Chase and he is just a heartbreaker!
Congrats on the upcoming birth!
Chase.......definitely.......
They're both nice, but I like Spencer/Spence best.
Or I have a friend who has a baby Jace, which is halfway between your names! (jaxson and chase)
Chase is nice..but it reminds me of the bank.
I like Spencer.
Good Luck to you!
