This is my 5 yr olds first year doing soccer.I've never been to any childrens sporting event - ever. Not sure what to expect exactly. However I'm in charge of snacks for a couple of the games. Aside from fruit (it's a given) are there any favorite healthy snacks you bring to sports events? Things that aren't too messy and are usually crowd pleasers? Any suggestions would be a great help!

We did pretzles, granola bars, chex mix, apple slices, bottled water (small bottles), juice boxes.
Oranges, sliced or peeled.
The sugar in them is very helpful to give the kids a burst of energy, and they are refreshing.
At my kids' games, you are expected to bring snacks for half time and also an after the game treat. The half time snacks are generally fruit- grapes, bananas cut in half, orange quarters, etc. Most important is that they are single serving, easily 'grabable' by dirty little hands and quick to eat. Some moms will put grapes in snack size baggies to make it easier.
The after-game snack is just a treat and either a Gatorade or juice box. The suggestions below are all great. Some moms have made cupcakes or brought doughnuts.
Don't forget to pack a trash bag. There is nothing worse than finding orange peels or trash left behind by the previous team.

Peanut butter and crackers (if no one is allergic) grapes, cheese, granola bars, apple slices with something on the side like caramel. At our grocery store you can buy those already individually wrapped, they cost 1.00.
I was a soccer mom for two years. Don't miss those hot days!

Rice Krispy treats, boxes of raisins, 100 cal pack of cookies, bottled water and pretzels, cracker packs.
My daughter played softball for many years - favorite snacks are individually packaged snack bars (KUDOs or Rice Crispies Treats) and juice boxes. Easiest to handle and serve. Please bring a bag for the trash if there isn't a trash can close by. When they get older (like High School - our daughter lettered as a Freshman - they like Starbucks!) but you have a long time before that happens! Enjoy your child and their sports!
The easiest are gogurt, cheese sticks, goldfish crackers, juice boxes ... and of course, as long as there are no peanut allergies, good ol' "ants on a log" (celery sticks filled with peanut butter and decorated with raisins).
Oranges...every kids soccer game I've been to the kids are always eating oranges :)
