Have you tried healthy families? It's very good,no charge office visits and very good dental. The fees are minimal, if any. The most you can pay a month is something like $9 per child. If you don't qualify they will refer you to medi-cal.
I am looking for freeof charge insurance for kids for family with low income.

Healthy Families is for very low cost insurance. Medi-cal could be for free. Go with Healthy Families. If you are low enough income then Healthy Families will help you get the no cost medicare.

Hi I.,
If your children don't qualify for Medi-Cal, try Healthy Families. It's low cost coverage for children under 19.
Here is the website url: http://www.healthyfamilies.ca.gov/hfhome.asp
Good luck to you.
Medi-cal is completely free and I even found it to be better than the insurance we now have (Kaiser). I believe you can sign up where you sign up for food stamps or other aid. Or try looking on line or at the local WIC office.
Kaiser Permanente also has a couple of programs for low to moderate income.Ask for the "community health benefits department" if you call. I only know about the child plan, which my daughter has been on for 2 years. They ask that you first apply (and be denied) Healthy Families. Its a "Yes or no" question that you check on the form but is not verified. Their program is called the Child Health Plan and is either 8 or 15 dollars a month. I love it and there is no stigma attached to it which was important to me (my issue). Good luck.
If you are low-income the Medi-Cal is your only option. It is also the only option if you are looking for something free of charge.
Healthy Families is for families that are not low-income but still below the median. They charge $9 a child up to three children. After the 3rd child there are not charges. However, Healthy Families is for children only and anyone over 19 will not be covered.
Hope this helps.
I can possible assist you. I am an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance, we offer assistance in helping people apply for healthy families, which is a state funded health care program. If you are interested, call me, 877-827-5117 my name is L..
Where do u live? If in California, there is the Healthy Families / Medi-cal program. Healthy Families is a program that charges little to nothing, for low to modest income families, and Medi-cal is a free program, generally in connection with the Cal-Works welfare program, but also available on its own.
I can give you info on insurance. I myself have medi-cal. but with my insurance for me and my three kids i have IEHP/Kaiser. which is inland empire health plan. I don't know if you've been to your local county office, but look in the yellow pages or if you live in san bernardino county or whatever county you're from look up on the county website. i know health insurance is so expensive but i thank GOD that we get health insurance w/ IEHP because of our low income situation. they also have molina and i think a couple of other programs with the county. so, try those references and let me know. keep in touch.

Get child action care from kaiser---that is 100% income based
I recommend Healthy Families or MediCal. You can log onto the healthy families site for more info. MediCal is through your local social services dept.
I'm not sure where you live but here in California where I live I get coverage for my son through Healty Families. I only pay $9 a month and it's for low income families. It covers health and dental.
I.,
Hello you can look in healthy families, is a insurance plan that depending on your income can be from free to something like $15 a month.
My daughter is enrolled there, the application process was very easy. They have great doctors.
You can see it in www.healthyfamilies.ca.gov
Hope this helps!
I have healthy families for my children, which is really low cost and great. If you qualify for medi-cal though it is also great. Here is a link for both: http://www.healthyfamilies.ca.gov/hfhome.asp
It can answer a lot of questions for you.
Hope it helps.
I am not sure where you live but in California I looked up on the Web about Healthy Families. It can be of no cost or there might be a small monthly fee. For my 3 children I pay $14.00 monthly and I get a discount if I pay be debit card. I notice they have it in other states as well but I didn't pay attenetion which ones. Hope I could be of some help.
I think the only free health insurance you'll find is Medi-Cal. However, if you don't want to go to Medi-Cal, Healthy Families has a very good program which covers medical, dental and vision. Bad thing is you have to pay for it, although it's not a lot. It depends on your income and family size, but usually it's between $7 and $15, if I remember correctly.
You should apply for Medi-cal or Healthy Families. This insurance helps with everything.
If you are low enough income, you may qualify for no cost Medi-cal....you would have to contact the welfare department and tell them your entire life history.
However, if your total household income is too high for medi-cal requirements, you can apply for Healthy Families....they're not free, but I only pay $9 a month for my son and we have more options as far as doctors.....it took me months to get my son on there but it's well worth it.
The thing I didn't like about Medi-cal was that they want to know EVERYTHING about your life and they seemed really invasive, because the state needs to justify why they give individuals free health coverage....
For Healthy Families, you have to first have proof of denial for Medi-cal.
With either one, be prepared to fill out lots of forms and wait a long time to get coverage (unless you qualify for emergency coverage through medi-cal) and get lost of copies of lots of forms, such as birth certificates, ID's, SS cards, proof of incomes, etc etc etc....
Good luck!
I've heard that Healthy Families is a good insurance company. A friend of mine has it for her son and loves it! I don't know the exact website, so maybe Google it. Hope this helps a little. Sorry I don't know more about it. :)
I don't know if Health Families is in your area but it is inexpensive insurance for children. Have you tried to qualify for Medi-Cal?
