My son just made the switch to milk, from formula. He has been drinking from a sippy cup since he was 6 months old, water that is. Well now I tried to give him his milk in a sippy cup with his meals and he wants nothing to do with it. So I've had to put it in a bottle. My concern is getting him to drink his milk from a sippy cup. Does anyone have a time frame of when he should be completely off bottles?
The best thing is just to be persistant. My oldest son was the same way and it took me a couple months to get him to drink his milk out of a cup but if you keep offering eventually he'll take it.

My daughter transitioned from bottle to cup by using the sippy cups that have straws rather than the 'plain' lid. Playtex makes them.

Try diluting his milk with water.
We had trouble w/ our little guy & milk in a cup too. I did end up putting it in a bottle too. He wouldn't drink it from the cup and I wanted to be sure that he drank it. I started with one meal a day & once he got used to that I used it for another meal/snack. He wasn't thrilled, infact he took a sip or two & pitched it aside...but got used to it eventually. I use a see through type of cup for milk - which is different than his water/juice cup. I thought that might help him to see it & realize what he was drinking. Also, maybe try using a cup with a softer rubbery nipple at first to get him used to it - then move to the harder nipple cups for milk. He is now 16 months old and we do still take one bottle before bedtime. All other meals/snacks have milk in a cup. I think my little guy is just so busy that he doesn't want to drink a lot of milk anymore. He won't sit still very long & I've noticed his highchair time has really dwindled in the past few months. My Ped. wasn't concerned that he still took a bottle as long as the majority of his time was from a cup. Dentist says 1 bottle a day right now won't hurt his teeth or jaw.

My daughter also absolutely refused milk from a cup--as soon as she took a sip and realized it was milk she would literally throw the cup across the room!! so i too kept giving it to her in the bottle until the pediatrician scolded me at her 18 mo appt (oops!!) she's not a good eater and i was convinced that I should do whatever it took to get those calories/nutrients into her. anyways, I finally got her to drink milk from Nuby brand sippys. (they're the ones w/the soft top similar to bottle nipple material--but still shaped like a sippy)
I have the same problem with my son, he is almost 16months old. he wants no parts of milk from a sippy, only from a bottle. but he'll drink anything else from a cup or sippy. unfortunately i have no answers for you, but once we return from vacation, im just diong it cold turkey. im guessing within a few days, he'll drink it.

Kids don't really need to drink milk. What they need is calcium. You can try making sure they get it other ways (Broccoli, other veges). You can also try different types of milk. Rice milk is very sweet and Soy milk is very thick - it may be more similar to the formula your son was on and he may like it better.
As long as you son has a healthy diet, I wouldn't worry too much about him not drinking milk.
