I am on to baby number 2 due in May. My first daughter Rylee will be 2 in May as well. When Rylee came along I bought everything known to man - without researching anything! Now that I know what kind of a mother I am and that there is a big difference in products, I wanted to ask everyone's advice on the few items that I am allowing myself to purchase for baby #2.

First off I am looking for a baby sling. I already have a baby bjorn, but I am looking for something that the baby can sleep and nurse in. Something that is easy - and safe.

2nd - I am looking for a tandum double stroller.

3rd - Looking for a papazon (spelling?) swing/entertainment seat sort of thing.

4th - anything that you could not live without when you had your second child!:)

If anyone knows of a must have item please let me know! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hey J.!

I'm in the same boat as youo. I hae a 13 month old son, Beckham, and expecting our 2nd in April. Life has been very interesting and challenging just preparing for another little one!
Unfortunately, I'm a small person and have not found a sling that would work for me. However, I'm have been on a mission for a tandem stroller for several months. I have the added challenge of having a small truck and many of the strollers out there don't collaspe small enough. If this is an issue I would check out Combi strollers ($149-199.00) or Phil & Ted Sport ($399-$460.00) the ladder is more expensive but it is remarkably sturdy and breaks down so easily! Since buying another car wasn't an option we went ahead and shelled out the $ for this one. The only store in town to carry both strollers in store is USA baby off of Sand lake. What is nice is the carry all the other products Babiesrus doesn't and you can ck things out for yourself.

Also, I got my pappason chair from target-their great but my son grew out of it so fast. A great place to look for stuff is Craigslist and very cheap!

I hope this was helpful. Stay in touch!
N.

Hello J.,

I have a little girl (2 1/2) and a little boy 5 1/2 months. THey are almost exactly 2 years apart. It is so great! Good luck to you! I am not a big sling person but I understand about working like crazy and then staying at home.
As far as a double stroller...have you looked into a sit and stand? I love my joovy caboossee! Bree stands and Benjamin can sleep. It's great! and very lightweigt.
Floormats with activities are great...and lots of mobiles for the crib. I am just now getting adjusted! We go to parks a lot so I don't know where you live but we could always hang out:-) I am part of a playgroup too so you could join us! You can e-mail me if you want at ____@____.com. I live in the Lake Nona area. Talk to you soon...time to put kids to bed!

Congrats on baby #2! I have the Graco duoglider and LOVE it. Not too big or heavy (for a double tandem) and folds easily and compactly. Very reasonably priced and a breeze to navigate- even one handed!
None of my boys cared much for swings or bouncy seats/ papazans. They all preferred to be "propped up" in their boppy pillows.
If you don't already have them, I HIGHLY recommend investing in a few "swaddle-me" type blankets. They were a life-savers for my twins (wish I'd had them for my oldest!). Best way to get them to calm down and fall asleep when they're little. Best of luck to you with your new little bundle!

i have number two on the way too and have done my research on strollers. check out the combi strollers, look at the website online. they are similar to the graco dual glider but much lighter. they are also very durable, stylish and little more expensive.

Hi J. and congrats on expecting #2!
Just wanted to offer you advice regarding the sling. Look up 2 ring slings on the internet (I've never seen them in stores and there are tons of different styles on the net). I got mine here:
http://www.rockinbabysling.com/ and I found it to be awesome...it's light weight and comfortable, you can nurse in it and you can hold the child in many different positions as they grow. It did take some practice putting it on though, but once I got the hang of it, it was really quick. I
It was really the only way my son would nap those first 8 weeks or so (well that and in a swing),and it's what made me also get a baby hammock (http:///www.ambybaby.com) which he slept in until he was 6 months...
