Having an Ultrasound on My Breast...

It could still be a plugged duct, that is not fluid, but dried, so therefore it wouldn't come out when aspirated. Isthere redness, soreness, sign of infection? Also, whenyou stop breastfeeding, hormones go crazy and it could just be normonal changes. I also have had cystic breasts, so have had many exams. The ultrasound will pick up things you can't even feel, so your doctor is trying to make sure. It may very well be resolved before the USN. Don't be worried.

I did not nurse but have had an ultrasound on my breast during a routine mammogram because of masses they could not see well enough with the initial scans. The ultrasound is just another tool they use to look at the tissue. Actually, I'm surprised they didn't do the ultrasound before trying to draw the fluid out.
It could be anything, but it's better to find out early.

I had a similar problem when I had mastitis (breast infection), but if you aren't having other signs of infections (fever, pain, fatigue, etc.) that seems unlikely. See what the ultrasnd shows... The worse case scenario would probably be having to drain the mass surgically, which happened to me. It was unpleasant, but all was fine in the end. They say it's fairly rare, so don't worry until you known more.

All I can really say is get it checked out. They can see everything with an ultrasound that they need to. They can't with a mamogram since the milk clouds the scan.

I had a clogged duct and it ended up being infected.
They put me on antibiotics and it started to clear up in less then 30 hours!!!
Scary, but turned out to be nothing major!

I had the same thing happen in my 8th month of pregnancy with my daughter. It did turn out to be a clogged duct (diagnosed from the ultrasound- my doc couldn't get enought fluid out either). I am sure it will be fine. My "bump" didn't go away until after I quit nursing for awhile. Best of luck and my prayers to you!
