Yeah. I type everything, even at college papers are typed. So when I have to write or try to take notes in some classes my hand is like "come on give me a break" haha.
Okay - I'm trying to leave a note for my husband and I am finding I can't write!!! I'm sooo used to typing everything that I can't write!!!
Have you noticed this?
Yeah- teaching handwriting in school has gone by the way side...THAT I noticed....urgh

Yes, just a few weeks ago I tried to write a longer note and notice that
1. my hand got tired and crampy
2. it was completely illegible
oops. Time to write some 'hand written' letters.
I can BARELY write a check out without having to THINK what goes on what line.
I make lists and if I write more than 4-5 on it my handwritting looks a wee bit like a serial killer wrote it.
Oh great! My house is a mess, the laundry needs doing, and now my handwriting! Shucks! lol!
Too funny!
Yes, I have noticed that. It is like my brain and hand are no longer communicating. I find myself writing in this strange, half cursive half not style!
So funny! I was just thinking the same thing this morning. I was in a meeting and was jotting down some notes and I felt like my hands were frozen or something it was so hard to write! :)
Your post reminds me of a book I just read. It's called Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky. In the future there are no regular schools anymore just online school and no one rarely leaves their house and no human interaction. EVERYTHING is done online. You either type, tell the computer what to type or use a special headband and it reads your thoughts. So no one even knows how to write with pen and paper.
Me too. I have started journaling in notebooks again to build the strength back up in my hands.
It was just on the news the other day that teaching cursive handwriting and penmanship in schools will be going to way of the dinosaurs soon.
Lol. I hope I never get to that point. I journal alot, so luckily--I still write with pen and paper.

My daughter, who is in accelerated and gifted classes, has a "learning disability" in writing. Her last teacher wasn't even concerned, since she will be able to switch to using a laptop in school if her writing doesn't improve.
Typing (keyboarding) is the way we communicate now, but I'm predicting that will go away too and voice recognition is going to be the next thing.
There's already a device that can do "voice recognition" silently. You don't even make a sound, you just mouth what you want to say in front of the device and it works. This way, you can take notes or send messages in meetings or in public without bothering those around you. Pretty cool.
I'll start writing by hand when my notebook decides to check my spelling.
I do keep a handwritten journal. It's filled with errors, but "they" say that writing by hand get's the create juices flowing. We'll see!
I have a horrible time writing now!
Yes! And I've actually noticed that my handwriting has changed!
YESSSS!!!!! Definitely, my handwriting is just awful!

I recently sent out our wedding thank you's, and wrote a special heartfelt note to our very close friends who traveled a good distance to be with us on our wedding day. They have a 15 year old daughter. Well, the mom emailed me to tell me she received my note, and noted that she read it to her daughter through tear filled eyes, because her daughter "can't read script."
I LOL'd. Her daughter is an extremely bright, artistic, lovely girl. But they weren't taught cursive writing in school. I have really nice, legible cursive handwriting. But she couldn't read it. :/
Aaargh, I've noticed. I thought it was just me being old. In my work, I even draw all my illustrations using a mouse and a toolbar. I've recently started drawing with pencil and pastels again just so my hand/brain connections stay connected!
