Has Anyone Taken Their Car to Just Brakes?

I did it once in Dallas, Texas. They did a good job, but it wasn't any $99.00. They found "all sorts or things wrong" with the brakes. I walked away about $300.00 poorer.

It's been several years but they found plenty of "problems" to fix and it cost us $1000. Same thing happened to another family a couple of weeks later. My husband who, in an earlier life, was a mechanic figured it for a scam. Good luck.

If you are in the CP/Leander area, I highly recommend Buddys Under the Hood on 1431 across from Bush's chicken.

I had the same experience at Brake Check - $600 worth of issues despite just needing new pads.

I will NEVER use Just brakes again! We took our truck there because we needed new brake pads. They came back saying we needed new rotors, hoses, just about everything to replace the brake system! I told them no and I didn't want it. They replaced the brake pads/shoes for us but did it very poorly. we ended up having to go somewhere else less than 2 months later to have the same work done... was it then and only then they noticed that two of our lug bolts were cut off!! I will NEVER go there again... on top of that, they wouldn't guarantee their work because we didn't get all the "recommended" work done!

I have a trouble experience with Just Brakes. I went in under the same advertisement $99.00 once they remove my old brake the came to me to tell me about all type of other things that needed to be fixed once they calculated it my bill was up to a whopping $598.00. I told them to put everything back like they found it and tried to tell me they could not let me drive my car it was a hazard. Well they put new pads on my car ONLY.. and gave me back my car and I told them about how they prey on women. There was another lady standing there at that very same time with the same problem. DONT DO IT go some where else.

I have taken my car to just brakes and was very happy with the place.....I'm not a fanatic about religion or anything, but the guy behind the counter was open about being Christian and he offered me ideas of how to get my car in running shape with the least amount of money put into it.

Good morning , I have used just breaks in the past my exerience was not good it cost me a good 350.00 to drive out and still was haveing a issue . i take mine to the place that i bought it and let them do all my repair work , from the small to the biggest so i have that piece of mind !!! Hope this will help you some .

I haven't had experience with Just brakes but I did take my car to Brake check and I would highly recommend that you steer clear from places like that. Brake check also had the 99 dollar deal. I ended up taking my car to a real mechanic and they told me that my brakes were so messed up from their half effort job and that I was lucky that I did not have a major accident from the job they did. I would stay on the safe side and take your car to a well know recommended mechanic who will do the job right. I'm sure others out there have had good experiences but I did not.

You have to be so careful of places that have these specials because they are just drumming up business. We took our car into a local tire shop for two new tires and they were having a weekend special on axel replacement. The mechanic came to my husband and said it was a good thing we brought the car in on that particular weekend because they were having a special and our axel was broken. We were shocked because we have never had a problem with the axel on any of our cars before. So we told the mechanic we only wanted the two new tires. Then we drove over to a garage that we trusted and the guy put the car up on the lift and showed us the damage. He said it looked like someone had actually attempted to break the axel manually and it was freshly done. He said we could still drive it locally around town but not to take it on any major long cross country drives. We never went back to that other tire company ever again.

DON'T GO TO JUST BRAKES! My husband took his truck there about a year ago for the $99 special. They said his brakes were cracked and in pretty bad shape. We had dropped off his truck and were out running errands. He wasn't able to look at the brakes before they fixed them. He said to go ahead and fix them, but to return his old brakes. It ended up costing about $700 (thank goodness it's a work truck and work paid the bill). When he took a look at the "old, cracked brakes" they were barely even worn down. He was beyond upset. He took his brakes to two other brake places and they both said they wouldn't have done a thing to his brakes, they were in good shape. He went back to Just Brakes to complain to the manager and that didn't help. They just said they were doing their job and trying to keep him safe on the road (and take his money too).
I would NOT suggest using Just Brakes - EVER!

I haven't taken my car to Just Brakes, but all the others that has said that, that I have taken mine to has always been more. Something else is always wrong. Good LucK and please let us know if the price is really that good.

I went into Just Brakes for the $99 brake deal and they told me that it was going to cost me nearly $1000 so I had my husband come in and he talked them down to about $600. We swore we would never go back there because they do not tell the truth aboout the $99 special. I suggest just staying away from them.
