Hello All,
I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good hair stylist and colorist? I was totally spoiled by my previous colorist and am looking to be spoiled again. I never had to tell her what I was looking for other than "blonde" and she always matched the various shades of blonde to my skin tone and eye color. I never knew what was used other than ash blonde coloring with one purple and one blue mix and am having difficulty finding somebody that can help me find the right colors. I've been a zillion places and either end up too gray(ish) or too green(ish). I'm under 35 and just want blonde highlights that are well blended (not chunky) with natural looking color.
Anybody know of a place/person in or around the Plainfield/Naperville area.
I just got back from my appointment with Damara at Salon Fluxx and am immensely pleased with her work! She did a fantastic job and all I did was ask for a natural, well blended blonde and to make sure that there were no red undertones. A couple hours later and...voila! She did a great job! Thank you to those that recommended her. I'll be going back!!!!
At the recommendation of another Mamapedia mom, I go to Colorific in Bolingbrook (across from IKEA). The stylist/colorist is Eileen (she is a manager) and she is great. One thing that I love about it is that she tells you up front exactly what the cost will be, not to mention the fact that she does fabulous work.
if you are willing to drive to Bolingbrook, at the Colorific across the street from IKEA is a girl named Angie. She has been cutting my hair for some time and she has been cutting and coloring my friend's hair as well and she always does a great job. i can't speak for myself yet because i can never decide what i want to do with my color and now i'm pregnant, so problem solved for now;) her number is ###-###-#### hair cuts start at $20 and coloring is pretty resembling priced as well. Don't let the cheap price on the cuts detour you, for a styling it jumps to $30. she has cut my hair is such a way that even i have been able to grow my hair out from a short pixie to shoulder length with no awkward stage. my freind started with the same hair cut as well and after seeing how well my hair has been growing out, she decided to take the leap and start growing hers out as well. good luck!
I also go to Damara and second that recommendation!! She is fantastic - both my husband I have been seeing her for 3 or 4 years and followed her to Salon Fluxx after she left Zano's.
For cuts I go to Jackie Carzoli (Jackie's Suite Designs) who has her shop inside the Salon Galleria on Washington right at 87th St. in Naperville. She has been cutting for many years and has done our whole family's hair for over 7 years. Feel free to message me for any contact info you need.

I highly recommend Roz Morris of Studio 10 in downtown Naperville. She did a great job matching my hair color to my skin tone and eyes so now I'm not so washed out. If you contact me, I can give you a coupon for 50% off.
I would highly recommend Salon Giovanni which was located on 143rd & Rte 30, but just recently located to Chgo Street in downtown Plainfield. I have gone to Giovanni Rizzo (the owner) for over a year and he is fabulous!!! He and his father Marty Rizzo, who also works there, are known for their world famous talent. They have done hair at the Grammy's, for modeling events, and have traveled all over the world styling and coloring hair. They have competed in hair competitons everywhere and have won lots of awards for their work. In spite of their combined talents they are very down to earth, regular people who do an amazing job! Damara at Salon Fluxx on Naperville/Plainfield Rd does great work. Your post actually described my hair color to a 'T'--she does my highlights and they look awesome, very natural. I have several other friends that go there as well and have been happy. For haircuts I go to Zoli. Good luck!
