I have dark brown hair that I have always had either dark brown, or highlighted with shades of blond and caramel. Currently, it is highlighted with some blond and some reddish. I want to have my stylist essentially get rid of the blond and do it back to dark brown with magenta like highlights.

Is this possible from where I'm at? I am scheduled for a partial foil tonight, should I call and try to book more time?

I am hating my hair right now!

What can I do next?

I have dark brown hair with highlights and awhile ago I decided I wanted to go back to my darker shade. My hairstylist did a "color gloss" which darkens the highlights but they still remain a touch lighter than your natural shade, it looked really natural and you could barely tell I had roots as it started to grow out.

I'm sure your stylist can do what you want so long as it's a decent salon, I doubt you'll need to book more time either. goodluck!

she most definitely will be able to cover them, you will need an all over color then. you should have time if your booked for a partial but maybe call just to be safe. all salons are different.

As a former hair stylist, I would say that if you are concerned that you didn't schedule enough time it never hurts to just call and explain what you are needing and if the previous scheduled amount of time is enough. Your stylist will appreciate it and probably do whatever it takes to accomate your wants....most good ones do! Sounds like you shouldn't have any trouble switching to the new color either.

If you have a good hairstylist. Anything is possible. I highlight my hair blonde and tried adding a red shade once and it bleed onto the blonde and I hade pink sections. Good luck

I'm a stylist, Without seeing your hair, I would say she needs more time. Likely, it will be a double process color. In which she fills the blonde, covers the grown out colors and makes it a solid base and then applies the magenta highlights. I would go ahead and call. She may be able to do it all at once, filling and coloring the highlights in foils, then coloring all the color around it while the foils process... but it depends on her style and speed, and the overall condition of your hair. If the salon has an open stylist or an assistant/apprentice, he/she can do the base color then your stylist do the foils. Just some options.

I'm thinking she'll have enough time w/ the partial BUT to play it safe I would call back the salon and Explain to them exactly what you want done this evening and see if there is enough in that time slot to do so !
Good Luck !!
