I've tried a couple different tummy shapers (ones to suck you in flat) that just aren't really living up to their claim on the label. I have a dinner party next weekend and I have a dress but would like to look better in it. Do you have a tummy shaper you swear by that flattens your tummy down to gorgeous? I know, I'm probably fishing for something that doesn't truly exist but thought I'd check. Also, I prefer no underwear styles, I feel so un-sexy in those and I don't want "panty lines". So anyone have the most EXCELLENT tummy shaper ever they'd be willing to inform me of?

You need to go to Dillards in the Fairview mall. They have salespeople who really really do know their stuff. I bot a TC brand? garment that they showed me and it works wonders!!! They have stuff that stays in place so much better than spanx. My spanx slide up :-/
I don't think you can buy them in a regular retail store anymore but the Ab-Slide works great. It's blue and you roll it out in front of you on the floor and then roll it back. You might find one on Ebay or Craiglist or a thrift store. It doesn' work in a week but in 4-6 weeks you will have a great tummy.**warning**: it does work but the instructions say to use for 3-5 minutes the first time you use it--if your abs are really flabby only use for a minute or you will get so sore it will be hard to breath.
You can get Shapeware that is like a wide band with boning and hook and eye closers that goes from about the bottom of your bra to your belly button. It will suck you in nicely but not be real noticable or uncomfortable. If your dress is real sheer or clingy opt for a skin toned one and put the hooks either in the back or on one side whichever looks best.
This won't work by next weekend, but I highly recommend doing the Tupler Technique exercises by Julie Tupler for a flat tummy. This is the only series of exercises I've ever seen that actually work for a mommy tummy! And they only take up about 10 minutes of your day, you can do them while you're driving, watching TV, wherever. Soooo easy and I have actually seens the results firsthand! I took a workshop to learn the techniques and I saw people lose inches off their bellies in just four weeks! Then you can throw your tummy shaper out! :-)
I like SPANX Higher Power panties - the ones that go from mid thigh all the way up to your bra line. The key is to make sure it goes all the way up to your bra line so it smoothes out your back as well as your tummy. You won't have panty lines because it's seamless to your mid thigh.
They're also not horrible to get into. You'll be able to breathe and get them back on after a restroom visit without a 20 minute workout.
I second the Spanx Higher Power shaper. Will take 5-10 pounds off you!
The body magic are exspensive but you will not need another gurdle.
